QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Get ready, it's a good one. Are you ready? No, really ready? 'Cos it's awesome....

"He’s filming the murders exactly inch by inch, literally how it happened and where the bodies were, and how they moved, and all those things, so it’s based in a real reality, things that really happened..."
Jake 'Really?' Gyllenhaal

One question, apart from the obvious, if someone knows exactly how and when the Zodiac murders happened then how come they never caught the guy that did it? Just asking.

Dude you've got it wrong! It's only when you don't know those things that you can catch the killer!

The bodies mover around? After they were dead? Jake, be good, this ain't Donnie Darko!!

Hollywood creative types? Sometimes imagination is even far more powerful than over detailed reality.

Gradtutious violence,is often revolting and desensitizing, or both.

Aim for compassion. Allow people's imagination's to visit those dark details...it's that's far more powerful than any special effects can be.

Does anyone remember?

"The Cotton Club"-loses something when the director takes you by the hand and rubs your nose in each slow drop.

Think Hitchcock/Psycho

Please, not Francis Ford Coppola

Jake 'Really' Gyllenhaal

LOL!

He sounds so excitable!

Really, Jake? Really?

KayDee said...

the murders obviously NEVER happended if the bodies... moved

jake solved the mistery not only on screen, but also in the real reality :)

is that quote really (hee) verbatim? wow, for such a literate bookworm, jake is consistently incoherent in his written quotes, huh? i think the way he talks just does not lend itself to being written down. when you hear/see him in interviews, he’s so charming in his stream-of-conscious responses that he’s able to convey exactly what he means, but if you try to write down his words, this is what happens.

hey, number six, do you have the full interview link?

Our poor darling grew up on movie sets and TV sets and had to cry on cue and be wise and smart and loveable and bratty all at the same time before he was 12. So he has many realities. Some of them are less real than others, and some of them are really real. Does it matter? Not really!

KayDee said...

he does that on purpose so that we here at Jake Watch had smth to comment on in times of jakelessness.

besides, who needs smart with such looks?

Anonymous said...

I'm more comfortable with a false reality, myself. But that's just me.

KayDee said...

yay for false reality! the only real RL that i get is in false reality. unless of course virtual=real and real=matrix, which is possible as well... :P

see, jake=the internet era prophet.

Sometimes, I think Jake is on speed.

you're right, kaydee. and sadly it may be a potentially long period of jakelessness. oscarwatch has a list of presenters for the DGA up, and jake isn't on it, so our baby's really in morocco (ok, so of course he is... i need to face reality heh. though i'm also strangely excited for him).

on the other hand, maggie's confirmed as a cohost of the nominee reception for the indie spirit awards, and a presenter as well. so that's at least some gyllen-goodness =P.

Then I doubt he'll be at the BAFTAS. :(

veeveevee said...

Maybe not, Cina - Morocco to London really isn't that long of a flight, whereas Morocco back to the west coast of the US is a hell of a long flight. You might get lucky and see him at the BAFTAS yet!

He must do BAFTA!!! He must. I mean. He received a BAFTA last year. He will come to present this year. He WILL come. He must!!!!
How could he not!!!!!Everyone think positive thoughts. Send karma to Jake...and to Gavin Hood. Now chant: BAFTA. BAFTA. BAFTA.

So he's not articulate 24/7, 365 days of the year. His intelligence is unquestioned and besides, he's so adorable who cares? I lurve him.

So there. *sticks tongue out*

I think we have just coined a new word: Jakelessness. A condition of being without Jake.We should catalogue the symptoms and the various stages of this illness. And then we should apply for a grant to study it. The study, of course, will require a control group to have lots of JakeFULness for a very long time and compare it to one who is Jakeless during that same period. As compensation for particiapting in the study, the Jakeless people will get some quality alone time with Jake...after the study is completed.

I think I am already beginning to show symptoms of Early Stage Jakelessness:

1. Slight increase in heart rate when Lifetime runs ads for "The Good Girl".
2. Inexplicable craving for couscous (which up until now I detested).
3. Watching Youtube clip of Jake's bd call to Ellen D. over and over and over and.......

Someone, please tell me that it's really 5 weeks, not 5 months of no Jake.

veeveevee said...

Oooh! Can I volunteer to be both parts of the study? I want to be on the JakeFULness side of it for the beginning part, and then part of the team who gets to make up for the Jakelessness. I mean, having someone go through that is worth studying, too, right? (Of course, it may be a post-mortem study of me, as I will have expired of happiness! ;D )

Sam said...

yeh even if he isnt articulate, we all understand what point hes trying to get across... right?.. Most of the time anyway!

The scarey part is, I think I know exactly what he means when he says this stuff!!! If we're cataloguing symtoms, does obsessively surfing the usual sites on the internet for hours count? Even tho you know nothing has changed...there is no news...
I'm optimistic. I think the GQ thing signalled the beginning of pre-publicity for Zodiac. I think we will be getting more magazines, more interviews and mentions of Jake. He could even do some video interviews from Morocco. What I really dread is that period after Zodiac has been released. It's the end of March. And there is no Jake...nothing...And then April... May... (thud!)...The only thing we can hope is that there is news about Jake actually signing for another part in another film. Cause I don't think I can hold out...I may have to go to Morocco.

Jakelessness is terrible.
I mean, how many times can one keep rewatching Jake 'I'm not going' Gyllenhaal on SNL?

And bloody GQ UK cover's got the otherwise likeable Beyonce.
I love beyonce...except in Febuary.

Last time I checked several copies of the February edition of the American GQ magazine with Jake on the cover and the interview with him, were for sale on ebay for pretty reasonable prices -- just type in 'Jake Gyllenhaal GQ Magazine'. This for the people who are inconsolable they cannot find it in their magazine store..!

Ladies & gentlemen, do you suffer from an utter lack of Jake in your life? Do you make constant comparisons between other men & The Beau Ideal, and by contrast, find other men's lips to be Jaggerish or completely absent by comparison? Their eyes muddy-colored & uninteresting? Their abdominals lacking in articulation, or even tending toward the beer-bellied? Can you understand every word they're saying, when they try to describe what "reality" means?

Now there's hope. JakeWatch is a refuge for those suffering from Jakelessness.

I actually understood that quote, SCARY!!
