Once again great secrets! And the Absolute one - brilliant! Katie, is that yours...?

I can totally identify with the sentiments of the latest! I think we're pretty much all of one mind here, amazingly enough!

katie, AWESOME!!!!

Absolut vodka is kinda bad, but I would so buy it if the bottle looked like that. Damn.

Jess said...

The Absolute one - beautiful. I'm drooling here. HOT!

cina said...

Shame on me! I'm Swedish and I can't even spell "Absolut". Disgraceful.

Jess said...

^^ Ooops. Me neither - obviously. I'm embarrassed now.

Nothing Really Matters said...

Owh i would drink absolut gyllenhaal vodka.

Becky Heineke said...

Wow. I'm totally advocating the Gyllification of all commercial goods. I would be a much better consumer.

Miffed67 said...

^^I'd be broke all the time!

Actually, I guess that wouldn't be that much different from now.

The first one sounds too much like what goes on in my head. And not just with Jake. I've planned Oscar winning scripts for several actors.

Diana Rigg said...

I don't know which is hotter...the postcards or him

Katie of Sweden said...

I like the one with starring in jakey movies :) Yeah, the absolut one is mine, I've asked bpb to put the right name on it ;)

Nothing Really Matters said...

Katie of Sweden how fab of you. It's really good.

What is it about that second postcard which makes my heart beat faster each time I see it? Is it his smile, as the shirt comes off, which actually seems warm & humorous, rather than overdone in a dirty & suggestive way? The glimpse of abdominal muscles? The exposed nipple? (I think it may be the nipple, actually.)

And as for the picture in the third postcard ... if Jake really looks like that when he's pleasuring himself, then he's got a much handsomer face at that moment than about 99.82% of the other men in the world.

Katie of Sweden said...

@NRM> Thanks..

Nothing Really Matters said...

Okay I’m being retarded again why do people put @ at the start sometimes??

Katie of Sweden said...

he's got a much handsomer face at that moment than about 99.82% of the other men in the world.

Well, he's got a much handsomer face than about 100% of the other men in the world so...

Katie of Sweden said...

@NRM> I think it means that the comment is directed towards/at (at=@) one person in particular (in this case you, NRM)...

Nothing Really Matters said...

oh thanks katie

Hello Katie! Yes I went to the web address you posted. It's Mr. Gyllenhaal's publisher. A site that was linked from Jake Watch earlier last month. You'll find some of his poetry posted there.

Katie of Sweden said...

Ok. So JW has linked to the fanblogg letter too? Are you sure?

beskyddaren said...

Katie, the Absolut Gyllenhaal is absolutely beautiful!

Nice secrets, the second one hits a bit too close home.

Simon Agent 002 said...

If it's one of the 2 I saw. One was from Jake Watch...and the other from Iheartjake. But what is news to me is the three links back to Jake Watch...BPB should be tickled

Katie of Sweden said...

No, I mean has this one been showed at JW too:

Simon Agent 002 said...

Katie ...no I hadn't seen this before! Thanks!...I'm looking now tho..

beskyddaren said...

Frank, you have a way to always make me feel better! In fact a fortune teller once told me my future husband would be either much younger or much older than me.

Katie of Sweden said...

@beskyddaren> so it's either Frank or Jake then I suppose.. I mean, it must be! :)

Frank Sinatra said...

Did she mention the after life?

Katie of Sweden said...

sorry, I mean Jake or POPPA or Frank......

Katie of Sweden said...

No, she finds me funny.

beskyddaren said...

Wow. Frank Sinatra is hitting on me. Wow.

Well I must say I'm extremely flattered here. A man that can sing - that is very sexy.

And Simon!? What is going on here?
Have I gone to heaven? Two larger than life alpha males fighting over me? Dear God, Jake, you need to step in, like right now!

Simon Agent 002 said...

LOL It must be the costume.

Simon Agent 002 said...

Yes, he had better step up!...poor Frank and I don't stand a chance.

beskyddaren said...

Yes, he had better step up!...poor Frank and I don't stand a chance.

Well, let's not be hasty there! There's no sign of Jake rushing here to express his undying love for me so I think I better keep my options open!

Simon Agent 002 said...

Offer to design his Malibu home. He may need a Architect....

Okay I had never seen this http://cantarachristopher.
bravepages.com/piny
/fanblog.html open letter before. Hmmm it kinda leaves a bad taste. Not trying to stir the pot but Publisher Lady screwed up then got REAL snippy and I still didnt' see a proper apology in that entire letter. It's clear that the Gyllehnaal's are artists which is why they ilicit such strong reactions/attractions (besides the hotness factor. There are plenty of hot guys out there.) Context unfortunately, is not the absolute domain of the artist. The fans got their hands on the photos and yes I'm sure there was a fair amount of *squeeing* but I'm sure folks recongized them as art and as the deep connection between father and son and all that jazz. Can't help if the very first reaction to them was white hot lust. Didn't see the pics myself nor did I see people's comments about them. Mostly just the contraversy. Ah well, bygones and all that jazz.

If this is too inflamatory brit, erase it with my blessing, just wanted to way my piece.

Miffed67 said...

Truth be told, squallcloud....I'm with you. I do think the 'apology' lies in allowing us to indirectly interview Gyllendad. Neither Cantara nor Stephen had to do that, but they did, and I thought that was rather big of them...and fun for us, besides. That said, however, I get the feeling Cantara's "letter" is somewhat self-serving in the "assuaging my guilt" sense.....but....whatever...water under the bridge, and all that.

The Chemistry Guru said...

"The predatory nature of fandom"
Hmm, interesting.
I have never thought of it like that before, but I guess that seen through the eyes of a close associate like herself it may well come across that way.

Anyway at least she tries to explain and we did get our little q&a, so its all good.

Katie of Sweden said...

NB: That page I found is not hidden or anything (although it sounds like her 'private' conversation with JW owner). It was referred to under NEWS at cantaras start page.

cina said...

After reading that "letter to a fanblog", I'm just soo damn sorry that I never got a chance to see the picture. :-(

Anonymous said...

Yah it was the little digs like "predatory nature of fandom" Umm how about the symbiotic relationship of if we don't pay to see their movies or partake in their artistic enterprises there would be no celebrity. Yes, the Q&A is an amazing opportunity that is much appreciated and I'm happy for brit but it is hardly a selfless act, like a sincere

"My bad. I won't put private pics on the intenet then blame their disemination on "predatory fans". This entire misunderstanding helped me to grow." yadda yadda yadda

Katie of Sweden said...

I think cantara is cool. She may of course has some issues according to that yadda yadda yadda so called 'intellectual' language she uses :) (I am too moved immensely by Jake pics ;o) )but in the end I am very happy to have found stephen poetry which I like a lot...

beskyddaren said...

Simon, you've been spying on me! And he needs a builder after that, so play nice with me here and who knows...

cina said...

Speaking of the Q&A - I wonder how poppa G is doing with our questions...? :-) I'm soo curious!

mrs_dalloway said...

Absolut Gyllenhaal :)) very inspired, Katie! Is this a way to confess both your Gyllenhaal and vodka obsessions? The truth is I think we all get a little drunk when seeing the J man..

About Cantara's letter..It is I think mostly for us, the guests of this blog, because I think she could have and maybe might have sent an email to Britpop explaining the situation. I think she has a good reason for expressing her feelings about those pics being posted, as it is her job to promote the arts more, and the sexyness of the family less. She insisted on the quality of the pictures, as art pieces, as products of a cinematographic view, believing that we,the ones that comment on them, forget about those details, being blinded by the phisique of the Gyllenhaal.
It is true, we do observe every little detail of that man's appearence, but we don't stop there. This is what I love about this blog, that it goes further with analysing..it is normal, it's owner is a Uni graduate..
Cheers, Britpop!

britpopbaby said...

That is the extact email Cantara sent to me a few days after PictureGate. It is directed at me. I'm not sure why it's up on a webpage though?

As for the Q&A is was an extermely generous offer because although this blog does get a lot of traffic it's not exactly the London Telegraph Book review - although we do occassionally try.

From what I understand Pops is back in LA and very busy with current projects but Cantara tells me he keeps mentioning our questions without prompt so he's obv. thinking about them.

Katie of Sweden said...

That's great news. I'm glad he doesn't forget us. I am SO waiting...

mrs_dalloway said...

Yes, I'm very curious about the Q&A,too!
Britpop, you've remained in good relations with Cantara, right? I think it's a bit strange that she put the email she had written to u on her webpage. Or maybe I'm paranoid and I need to focus or smth else.Like the delay of Zodiac's premiere.DAMN!!

cina said...

Somehow I'm not surprised over the delay of the Zodiac premiere. It is after all David Fincher directing - Mr Prefection himself, according to people in the business. Remember Jake talking about one scene they did 67 takes or so for...? We can only hope the delay means a KICK ASS movie once it actually premieres.

It's so nice to hear that poppa G is talking about our questions spontainously (sp??), that's a huge sign he's taking us and the Q&A seriously, which is really nice. :-)

The Chemistry Guru said...

The delay of Zodiac makes me wanna holler!
I may take inspiration from the "secrets" and down extra shots of absolut gyllenhaal, just to keep my cool.
Simon screw your martinis, can i get a glass of G instead?

That letter (slightly self-conscious, over-dramatic style aside) makes me fall in love with that entirely family even deeper. They sound absolutely, truly, madly golden, don't they? Each one in his/her own way.

And yes, I too wish I had seen those damn pictures.

Ninni said...

If that letter by Cantara is an open letter then I'm a bit insulted. I understand she probably didn't mean that and yes, the Q & A with Stephen is a very, very generous offer of peace. However, I don't like being called - in between lines - a predatory fan girl who has no appreciation for art. I love and appreciate the art of cinematography so much as a movie freak, amateur photographer and a wannabe-director....but this is Jake Watch. If I want to discuss the fine art of cinematography, I don't do it here. Not because there aren't plenty of intelligent and knowing people here, but because this is the place where I express my appreciation towards a particularly good-looking individual of the human race, or in other words, the hotness of "the Sex". Besides, this whole "stalking"-thing isn't exactly serious so why can't people just get the joke? I really didn't think it was that difficult to get it, jeez...

Sorry, I'm having a bad day :)

beskyddaren said...

Word!

And Katie dear, weren't you supposed to go to a 24hour rehab?! ;o) Oh well, I know fighting the Jake addiction IS hard.

cina said...

They sound absolutely, truly, madly golden, don't they?

Well, Gyllen means golden sort of, so it's only appropriate, don't you think? ;-)

And Simon, I think I choose to get hammered by an endless amount of Absolut Gyllenhaal too, so let's skip the Gin & Tonics, okey?

JoyceDavenport said...

Prison! For heaven's sake Britpop, I leave you alone for a couple of days and you get banged up in jail-and you didn't even call me.

Where are you? I'm on my way with a bail application now. Jeez I didn't realise being your lawyer would be so nerve wracking and diverse. Copyright violations, goodness-knows-what criminal violations, what next? (Don't answer that)

Anonymous said...

There's more than a whiff of condescension in that open letter, and it makes me uncomfortable. I don't care to be condescended to. Since I sent questions along to BritPopBaby in good faith, believing my views would be respected. Let me see if I'm the fan whom Cantara's imagining: I've got an MFA in poetry from a private college in the New York area. Grant winner from NYFA & others. Stayed at Yaddo & others. First book published by a well-respected small press, based in NJ. Am I qualified yet to look at photos of the Gyllenhaal family by Robert Elsewit (whose name I recognize as the cinematographer of "Good Night, and Good Luck," among others?) and be credited by her with more complex emotions than someone contemplating a "stroke" picture?

zoo said...

Cina, I didn't know it meant that. Oh, how lovely and appropriate.

I was just re-reading Gyllypops' poems. They are so good. I caught this line in one of the newer ones:

"I'll swim in fresh and salt water and learn to sail and finally speak Spanish"

SG I'll teach you!

cina said...

@zoo - Gyllenhaal means "golden hall" in Swedish. :-)

Simon Agent 002 said...

I hope what im about to say is not misunderstood, I haven't the abilty with words as say a publisher. ...I found the letter to be very thoughtful and warm. Can I honestly say there weren't times I wish things weren't said or done? no, I plead guilty...I also hope that it isn't the sole impression gleened from visiting this blog....I believe it isn't ...as evidence the generous offer to read some of Mr. Gyllenhaal's poetry and for him to take his time to answer questions...Much care went into this letter, from the personal sharing of efforts of putting such a book together...the stuggles with computers...(hence the public posting perhaps?)to the kind as if to a friend, adomonishment... I wish I were as careful of others feelings as has been shown to me....no not offended...point taken.

I love that all us educated adults have incorporated phrases such as "The Sex" into our vocabulary becuause seriously how else could you refer to Jake. Let's be honest here.
