I'd almost throw in the towel with Sock Watch due to Jake's, dare I say it, quite bloody boring choice of socks (who would have thought?) but then came this picture:

At least he kinda has a reason that he's just gotten off his bike. Clearly with dark shades, slipped on the wrong shoes!
What is the point of socks like this? Who sat there and thought: 'I know, I shall help all the disenfranchised who want to wear SOCKS WITH THEIR FLIP FLOPS (WTF?) but can't'?

It's just a temporary thing in Jake's case he's getting from bike clothes to street clothes or vice versa....I hope?

Jake needs varying the colour range of his socks. White is boring.
He really is not exhibiting good sock behavior here, that's for sure, although I agree it's surely temporary. Also, isn't this #6? Am I getting obsessive over my Sock Watches?
You know, I'm getting deeply worried about all this time Jake's spending astride a bike. Doesn't it affect his, uh, tush? And other assorted areas? Clearly it's affecting his brain, making him dress like K Fed and we all know that is not allowed.

Again, I find Jacob to be the exception to the rule. While socks with flipflops have always been a wrong answer, on him, somehow, they don't look overly bad. To me, they only add to his dorky cuteness. Also, I have to say that I looove the low-riding shorts. Nice undies, Jake.
Even when dressed similarly, Jake belongs nowhere in the same vicinity as Kevin Federline who is a whole new class of trash in and of himself.
Jake, you are asking a lot of your fans. You're really counting on our tolerance & acceptance of you, no matter what you form of self-expression you choose, aren't you?

My loyalty, though badly shaken, still holds on, though rather tenuously. I tell myself: If any man can carry off a look that Nice Anonymous recalls her pot-bellied, elderly uncles sporting during summer backyard Bar-B-Ques in the U.S. suburbs, and yet still manage to look sexy, it would be Jake.
Still, I feel that Jake's toeing a dangerous line here that tests all my liberal beliefs in tolerance & acceptance. He's really teetering between endearing geekiness & looking like a complete dork.

I TOTALLY AGREE. IN FACT JAKE LOOKS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS IN THOSE NIKE SOCKS. HE TOOK OFF HIS SHOES FOR BIKING IN THE CAR, AND SLIPPED ON A PAIR OF FLIP FLOPS TO HEAD IN FOR A SHOWER.....UMMM. I LIKE THE TEMPORARY TRANSITION LOOK.
As far as an comparison to K-Fed, Jake looks zillion times better. K-Fed's flip flops are too dark a color and his pants land almost at the top line of the socks. Jake on the other hand has a light brown flip flop and his shorts end below his knees giving nice long view of lean legs that gentle into those soft white socks. I'm just saying..... he's looking good to me.

While I appreciate that Jake doesn't giva f*@k and chooses to express himself accordingly, this is just not a good look. It's evocative of trailer trash and if K-fed endorses the look it's obviously in bad taste!

I can't STAND wearing socks with flip flops or any sandles that separate your toes like that. What CAN he be thinking? That's SO uncomfortable! Thank goodness it was just a transitional thing.

Arriving Heathrow airport momentarily. Will then be transferred to armored car for the trip to britpopbaby's bedside and spoonfed to her by our Jake lookalike robot operative. Full recovery expected.

Look. I'm sure there are rules and guidelines here. This is a very respectable blog. And it's fun. I love to hang out here. But. Geez! How could you commit such a sacrilege! Comparing Jakey to K-Fed! But then, I realized...it's not your fault. I mean...if the shoe fits...

OHNO! I can't believe this! I was browsing around for socks just yesterday and thought to myself "If Jake ever wears those cameltoe socks with the big toe mojo, I'm quitting him!"
To be true to self, or to be true to The Sex? That is the question.
I can barely bring myself to comment on the flip-flop sock combo. *sigh* (shakes head). Maybe Jake got this attire idea from McBongo - I can DEFINTIELY see McBongo sporting the socks/flip-flop combination pack while drinking and baning on his drums.
