Jake Trades Celebrity Lifestyle for That of Lumberjack
Jake Gyllenhaal, the actor best known for being a celebrity, was recently interviewed in Interview magazine. The interviewer was Zodiac director David Fincher, to whom the interviewee revealed that he had developed an interest in fly fishing and lumberjacking. A crafty photographer caught Jake in the act of some pretty non-celebrity-like activities (see below) and now rumors are flying that Jake has secretly been engaged in early-morning row-boating activities for years. We can only hope that Jake will come in from the outdoors in time to film Brothers with his brother, or else it might be a long time before the next set of paparazzi pictures...

I like how he's exerting absolutely no energy in these pics. It's like being that hot uses it all up. He doesn't have an ounce left to chop wood or row, or anything.
Jakey better be careful with those hip waders, people have been known to lose their life from those wicked things! I have 83 primo Jake piccies for the first person who can explain how that happened.
I actually have a subscription to Interview. He looks so freaking sexy in that bike picture, I might scream when I take it out of my mailbox.

My god he's gorgeous. Seems like that's the sole reason for having these pictures taken, they're really not telling anything about him as a "person" or about his "art"... Or I may be wrong there, it's clear he's very very talented.

Ok, so this has nothing to do with the pics, and I shamefully admit I haven't been visiting JakeWatch regularly recently so missed the news..but Jake and Tobey Maguire are doing a remake of Brothers/Brodre?? Nooooo!!! I adore that movie, it is perfect as it is, and it doesn't need an English-language remake with Hollywood stars! Even if one of those stars is Jake! I'm not one little bit happy about this *sulks* :(

Well it's grapes harvest time here in Italy, I must recommend him as a hand...if he likes outdoor activity he can have a really good time.;)

Well, obviously. It just pisses me off that a wonderful movie like Brodre needs to be remade in English to get the audience it deserves. At least it has a decent director, though I'm surprised he's taking on a remake. I just can't see Jake and Tobey in the roles and I'd rather see Jake take on an original role.
Im sorta with you, anon, about Brothers, yet it is very relevant to the USAan experience of homecoming veterans and what that does to the families. I thot the Danish version was wonderful, especially the strong roles played by woman and young girls.
It may be there is more to be said about this classic and tragic drama.
SuzieQ, that's a good point. It's reassuring to think that the film could be adapted in a way that draws out its particular relevance to the American experience. Jim Sheridan, the director, is Irish but his "outsiders" view might be even more interesting. That cheers me up a little, ta! :)
