OMG! THEY'RE LIKE TWINS!

Jake was on The Today Show with Robert Graysmith this...er, I can't remember now, I've lost all track of time. Friday? It can be viewed HERE. It's not really that fascinating but..."This is a movie about a different type of resolution...an unresolved cadance...but that is the end of a lot of music..." YES! Gyllenbaffle!

There! more proof that Number Six is not a true Gyllenhaalic! Am I the only one who can see this? Who is this Number Six is what I wanna know... FYI #6, the Today Show was on Saturday, it was taped on Wednesday, how can you not know this??

Jake's waistcoat is doing things to me I didn't even think were possible. WHY OH WHY didn't he take off his jacket?!? Mahgawd how I would have loved to see him in just his shirt and the waistcoat... *sigh* (and pants of course...lol!)

Sam said...

make that chaps cina, if we are going with the waistcoat we might as well let him just put on chaps as well...

i have a dirty dirty mind

Ah.. question.. I realised i hadnt seen this vid and it was even on my comp... Anyway does the interviewer call Jake, Jacob? i have never heard anyone refer to him as that before.. Jacob is soo cute

cina said...

Did he call him Jacob?? I didn't notice that. Guess I'll have to watch it again when I get home from work... hehe.

And chaps Sam... Naah. I think I'll pass... LOL!

And I was afraid that my withdrawl was going to start today- I had totally forgotten about this interview.

My withdrawal started last night!!!
Jake has clearly fallen in love with a new phrase of his own invention: the unresolved cadence."
As "...I am a fan of the unresolved cadence..." The guy's utterances are pure poetry!!!His meanderings are positively Gordian!! We may never unravel them...and who would want to!!! I just want to unravel his...um, waistcoat...

OT: I couldn't resist posting this:

Jake sees signs of the 'Zodiac'

Jake Gyllenhaal (sigh) was in town this week for a cinema Society preview of his new thriller, "Zodiac," in which he hunts the infamous bay area murderer.

"The idea of a serial killer is whatever we fear within ourselves. It's our own psyche, in a way," he told me at the GQ-sponsored event.

"To me, the serial killer is obsession, and to me the serial killer is aspects of people's personalities that they don't want to deal with or that they indulge so much that it is dangerous."

Spooky!

Gyllenhaal stars opposite Robert Downey Jr., who channels captain Jack Sparrow to play an eccentric, alcoholic reporter. So, asks the gossip columnist with a glass of wine in his hand, what did Jake learn about drunken journalists?

"That [your life] obviously doesn't end too well. and that it's a bit redundant."

Oh, snap!

The drunken journalist got me thinking about you know who, but I wouldn't call that slime a journalist!

Jake's rapier wit strikes again.
Redundant!!! I love it! Only plz! Tell me you don't believe that when Jake is in his 60's he will look like Robert Graysmith. I don't want them to be twinned in that way. I mean. I will always love Jake...but if he turns into Robert Graysmith...I will just love him in a different way...maybe by then Jake will have sons...

Bwahahahaa! Yours is the love of the purely superficial...fear not though, one look at the gyllendaddy and I bet it's safe to say that Jake will be one sexy Sexagenarian.

The Chemistry Guru said...

A sexagenarian with a shockful of hair, I might add.

welliwont, i hope you’re just kidding, since number 6 is definitely being sarcastic about not knowing which day this interview was.

anyhow, can i just say that “unresolved cadence” is like my new favorite term? who else but jake could use an obscure musical theory term (assuming the average person isn’t an amateur classical musician) to describe a serial killer movie? it’s so unexpected, and yet, as jake would put it, apropos! my inner geek is shrieking with glee hehe.

oh, and i LOVE the waistcoat, yes!

Jake on "The Daily Show" (Comedy Cental)is being re-run right now! and should be on in the afternoon and evening!

So if you've missed this show...consult your TV listings. This episode should be run at least two more times before the next episode airs at 11:00 pm Eastern Standard Time .

Of all the TV shows, I think Jake looked his most mind-numbingly Sexiest on TDS. He had that Sexual swagger down and he was working it! Notice how he stayed standing when he first came out? The height thing. Poor Jon! He's such a cutie! He deflated under the power of all that sexual heat! (Oh, hell! I'm just messin' with ya!)

welliwont - I know very well who Number Six is and I can assure you he - or she ;) - is a true Gyllenhaalic. You just don't get the irony of this blog I guess.

Or are we not getting yours?

So nice to see a post today...I was afraid we were headed into a Gyllendrought.

After watching that interview (and the America's Most Wanted last week), I started to wonder if, besides his amazing acting ability, part of the reason that Fincher hired Jake was because of the eyebrows...

I definitely think that the Conan interview was the best. Jake was a lot more entertaining there, even if he didn't use phrases like "unresolved cadence". I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who would almost rather just listen to him speak than look at him. He's such a geek, I love it.

We need a body language interpeter to examine these photos. Number 6.5?

I also agree that the Conan interview was the best. It's like Jake and Conan "get" each other's humor :) And I also love the geekiness of it all.

welliwont said...

ummmm,Smurfette, Cina:

humour is the idea of this blog, right? Are you saying that my post wasn't funny?? Damn!

Jake said...

Look, just because Number 6 drinks a little in the morning doesn't mean they're not a true Gyllenhaalic! ;)

I had fun with the Conan interview. I loved it! Jake was delightful. I thought TDS interview was way too short, but I know that's how TDS is. It's only half an hour, but Jon and Jake have really great chemistry together and I agree from a purely physical point of view, Jake looked damned hot on TDS. Damned hot!!! In fact, the Zodiac screening and TDS were the physically hottest looks IMHO. Oh. And he looked really good on Letterman.

Was just thinking. That suit he wore on Conan. Read somewhere it was described as "dove grey Armani..." I'm thinking Jake being in Morocco didn't have a wardrobe suitable for the demands of the promotional stuff so they hooked him up with GQ ppl and stylists and he put on a bit of a fashion show. Bet he makes #1 on the next GQ list. I mean, how could they not!

salailama said...

Are you saying that my post wasn't funny?? Damn!

no no no—like cina mentioned, it was just us who didn’t get your humor. we weren’t sure if someone was legitimately questioning number 6’s gyllenhaalic-ness, cuz you know, we get those every once in a while. all clear now =)

cina said...

^^ What she said.

The suit he wore on Conan was apparently made out of "cashmere and goat blood." The first few minutes of that interview had me laughing harder than I have in a long time.

I don't know what he's saying, but moreover, I don't think even Jake knows what Jake is saying.

This was the least interesting of all of Jake's interviews and the shortest. Didn't get the part where the interviewer called Jake Jacob!
