COME AND KNOCK ON MY DOOR...

From the Los Angeles City Beat Theatre Listings:

Three Compañeros. Parody of the TV show Three’s Company, in which roommates Lance Armstrong, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Matthew McConaughey try to win the heart of the same girl. Written and directed by Amy Rhodes. Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 5919 Franklin Av, Hollywood, (323) 908-8702. Ucbtheatre.com. Two perfs only: Fri at 11; March 30 at 11.

WOW. Someone has to see this and then tell us all about it. Los Angeles agents? I cannot even believe that this exists and was produced outside of the Jake Watch world. Amy Rhodes, we welcome you with open arms.

Allegedly there are two performances, but all I can make of that is that one of them is Friday, March 30 at 11. The blurb-writing is hopefully not reflective of the quality of the performance.

Thanks to welliwont for finding this for us!

LMAO!! I'd like to see the person playing Jake.... Prettyyyyy high standards to live up to there..! ;)

Hope it isn't like the play Matt & Ben that opened off Broadway! The two lead characters were played by the playwrights, two girls...who really like Ben and Matt.

Damn! I meant that to read they really "LOOKED like" Ben & Matt!

Okay...you caught me...I really am Amy Rhodes, and figured this might be the only way I could get "Jake" to chase me and win my heart!

When you think about it, this could be hilarious! Matty grousing about Penelope, Lance about Cheryl and Jake trying to interrupt about that time when he was with that girl...Matty doing his yoga and Lance lining up endorsement deals...Jake constantly on the phone turning down parts and trying to do deals like the big boys, "trying to put something totally different together in the way people look at film..." Uh, yeah, Jake. Right. Lance trying to score, Matty giving a running commentary of his conquests, and Jake the avid pupil taking it all in, including all the girls!

In related news, anyone seen this yet?

Donnie Darko (Oct. 27-Nov. 18) - Zero Arrow Theatre
Marcus Stern directs the work based on the screenplay by Richard Kelly. "During the presidential election of 1988, Donnie Darko, a troubled teenager, encounters a six foot rabbit named Frank, who tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. Donnie returns home to discover that a jet engine has crashed through his bedroom — and so begins one of the strangest and most haunting stories ever told." The 2001 cult film (starring Drew Barrymore with Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal) makes the leap to the stage.

Okay, I can't complain without seeing it, but how in the hell are they going to suggest the "spears" or "axes" or however you want to describe those things that were a very important part of Donnie's experience?

I always hated Three's Company, never found it funny but this play sounds funnya as hell! Too bad it's not playing in NY.

Three's Company? I doubt it's only three people... Donnie Darko on stage

Jake ought to copyright his name or something so that he gets royalties everytime someone uses it for commwercial purposes. That would NOT include JW, bcz there's no profit in what you do!

Is this for real? I'm going to be in LA at the end of March.

I'll have to check it out for myself.

I'd love to see the real Jake on stage :)

Maybe, just maybe I'll check this out. Its a small theatre, not too shabby, they like to parodies late at night, so I don't think this is so far fetched for them. *shrugs*

I hope someone gets to see this, it sounds like a hoot!

I've got to believe that someone's going to attend this & then describe it later to Jake, who'll probably enjoy hearing about it late at night, after a day of filming under the hot sun.

I believe someone else will be playing Jake, Lance and Matt, not the real guys. However, I bet it will be amusing. Hopefully it is all in good fun and does not mock Jake too much. :/ Will be curious to read the reviews.

Anonymous wanna meet and see it together? I'll be in LA and would love to go see it and enjoy it with a Jake fan. I don't think my travel partner is interest in going.

We can meet prior to the show if you like. I'm on the road and don't know when I'll be able to use the computer again, but leave a message if you're interested in getting together.

Anyone is welcomed :)

City Girl, thanks so much for the invite, would love to go, but I don't live in LA and can't afford to make a trip there. :(

Have fun!
