Also, the GQ with Jake is out on stands (see last thread for deets) and IHJ already has some scans up. Love the one of him leanin against the wall. There is one more with him in a suit in the mag.

Sigh...the hands, the hands in this pic...such long, elegant fingers, so gentle looking...sighing some more...
Because of how he keeps those arms looking and how he uses those perfectly-manicured hands while he talks, I have always harbored the little notion that he is probably vain about them if he is vain about anything. He seems not to give a hoot about everyone's yammering about his blueblue eyes.

Pavonine, if Jake's vain about anything, don't you think it may be his hair? Remember the head- shaving for "Jarhead"? He looked sort of apprehensive, don't you think? Like, "Okay, I am making a sacrifice for my art ... but this damn well better grow back later ... exactly the way it was ... Or there'll be hell to pay."
Also, I'd imagine Jake must be extremely health conscious & aware of the hard work involved in keeping his physique honed. (Not like he has body dysmorphic disorder of anything, though I'll bet that's more common than is admitted among good-looking male actors.) "Jarhead" maybe was a turning point. Not so much for "Brokeback" since I recall thinking in the Thanksgiving dinner confrontation scene that his body still looked rather slight & boyish, compared with his father-in-law's.
It's funny, here's a pic without pecs or a closeup of those eyes or anything, but I can't stop looking at it. The combination of him looking so at ease with the two little kids (boy did I believe it when he said he wanted like four kids--just from pics with him and kids, or with his dogs, you can tell he's a natural and can't wait to have a family) and the impish look on his face conveys so much about the cute personality we love him for. Not that I don't think he is damned fine looking, but I think it's his endearing personality that pushes me over the line from "well that's a nice looking fellow" to "this guy really does something to me."
Oh, and Nice Anon, I think you are right about the hair. I hope he doesn't lose it--not just because it's great, but because I think it would really hit him hard!
