THE SUNDAY PROJECT: SIXTH MONTH SUMMARY

Annnnnnd breathe...

I meant to do this last Sunday but er...I didn't. So after sixth months of Sunday Projectness I have now gathered together our findings, processed the data with an Excel spreadsheet, made some pie charts and bar graphs and put together a Powerpoint presentation. I present to you here now, things that we here at Jake Watch officially approve of and what shall now recieve the Jake Watch Seal Of Approval:

Officially Approved Partner (if you really must have one, Jake)
Winner: Natalie Portman
Runner Up: Austin Nichols

So what, you're just friends? Ring her up, treat her to a MacDonalds - who knows what magic can happen in plastic yellow booths? Sorry, is this embrassing?

Officially Approved New Movie
Winner: Any, as long as you get your butt out again
Runner Up: Jane Austen's Persuasion
Better re-read that Rendition contract and see if you can get out of it or at least insist a butt scene be written in.

Officially Approved New Pet
Winner: The Animal
Runner Up: Inconclusive

Er...yeah, sorry about that one.

Officially Approved New House
Winner: English Country Manor
Runner Up: Beach Hut
Oh, Mr Gyllenhaal! How you delight us with your exquisite balls!

Officially Approved Holiday Destination
Winner: Australia
Runner Up: Mexico

Officially Approved Tattoo
Inconclusive as comments veered into, 'Oh my God, Steve Irwin is dead'.

Officially Approved TV Career
Again, sadly inconclusive. britpopbaby has made the executive decision to officially approve CSI:NY even though it wasn't an option. I think you know why. Lab coats? Totally hot.

Officially Approved New Hobby
Winner: Bingo
Runner Up: Jousting
We are just so bored of the damn biking! Get down the Bingo hall with Gladys and Mavis will ya?

Officially Approved New Charity that Jake should be pimping
Winner: Talk Like a Pirate Day
Runner Up: Save Katie Holmes
Dude, who cares about liberities?

Officially Approved Resturant Venture
Winner: Burger Van
Runner Up: Swedish Experimental Bistro
It may get cold in the winter but think of all the cooking you get to do! Greasy, horrible cooking!

Officially Approved New Friend
Matty and Lance out, Lt. Dan IN. End of conversation.

Right, everything sorted? Good.

LMAO!!!
Loved the summary! And I realize I've missed some Sunday projects in the past...

Big Sunday morning chuckle!! Jake in an English mansion, playing bingo (why is this reminding me of George Michael?) and with a Steve Irwin tattoo on this arm. Thanking you Brits!

Excellent summary!

Bwahaha! I almost sprayed my coffee all over the computer screen from this post! We've decided on some pretty good stuff for him! LOL

Oh, Mr Gyllenhaal! How you delight us with your exquisite balls!

LMFAO! That one was almost too good.

I'm also surprised, and pleased, to see that the Swedish Experimental Bistro is at least the runner up. Warms my swedish little heart. ;-)

Yes, I remember voting Burger Van....wow that was awhile ago!

kaydee said...

Brits, does it mean that you are ok after yesterday's flu? because you sure seem to be in top form.

i think you should get a nobel price in literature and an oscar for whatever all rolled into one for that projest-of-all-projects.

and a big kiss for the seal of approval.

kaydee said...

i think i mentioned my complete craziness re: early-19th century male fashion. so: jake in a Mr Darcy's outfit, tight trousers and the hat in front of the mansion.

omg, pant... pant...

although i admit i wouldn't mind jake in a pirate outfit or in no outfit at all in the new film approved by brits

I nominate her for the Nobel Peace prize....but I think she's too modest to accept?

^^ It's from when Jake was on Conan O'Brien earlier this year/late last year promoting BBM. He was talking about liking showtunes and how he was on a U2-concert and Bono started singing "Send in the Clowns" from A Little Night Music and Jake got a little excited... LOL!

Any news of Kendra?I went over to JakeWeird and just got a black, blank blog?Hope she hasn't lost it again?

omg, Seal of Approval, YES! My favorite would have to be the Officially Approved Restaurant Venture, AKA burger van. Or the new movie. I certainly approve of any butt-showing Jake wants to hand out.

Katie said...

So Jake's started calling himself 'Jakeasouras' when he's out bowling in Texas...

Now, I can think of two explanations: a) poor Jake's feeling his age, or
b) this is another of Lance's little jokes if you get my drift

Jake, you made me laugh so much - thank you!!

And if it happens, I hope it's a Hut near me.

But I have to admit that, although we in Newport Beach tend to be extremely casual and almost oblivious towards our resident celebrities, there is absolutely no guarantee that I won't be popping over to borrow a cup of sugar every once in a while. Like, five times a day, ten times a night.

Hey guys, I don't have time to give a full report right now, but the reading went well...I didn't get any pictures but I did get a video which I will upload as soon as I can. The whole thing was actually a little weird and it's possible I'm pissed off, but I'll explain all that later.

BUT, I need some help here! What is the name of the awards gala that Jake was invited to tonight?! I need to know this for reasons that I will explain later, but if someone could point me in the right direction, I will be WAY grateful and do...something...to reward them!! THANKS!!!

nice anonymous said...

"It's possible that I am pissed off."

Oh, dear. That doesn't sound good, from my experience. I imagine you're still processing your true reaction or trying to interpret something that happened or a remark that was made to you.

Looking forward to your report, after you've reflected further & figured out what the story is.

heddaparsons said...

PG, I was going to say I was looking forward to your report but now i'm not so sure. I read Ally's comments over on IHJ and she said the reading went well, but it sounded a bit awkward. Sigh.

I was going to say that Jake might not show for the event tonight at Cipriani's, but I see that he will be receiving the Young Artists award for Artistic Excellence so he may be back from Texas. I work just down the block from Cipriani's, I would stop by after work but I need to go straight home tonight.

First of all, I think this is the classiest, most zany blog ever and I can't help but check back at least three times a week. Much kudos, Britpopbaby.
But Brit, I can't help but notice that you've started to swear in almost every post. I don't mean to be prudish, but I think it detracts from the overall effect and I'd love to see a more clean repertoire as we're missing out on the wonderful talent for expression you have without the swear words.
Ciao for now~

Okey, PG has to come back with her report ASAP. This agent is dying to know!

Anonymous said...

Since those two reports/blogs said he was at the bowling alley on Saturday, plus no sightings for a couple of days, so it is possible that he flew back to NYC early Sunday.

PG, awaiting your report, but am curious as to what went on. :/

Katie said...

How can I bear the wait until we get the report? Jake could easily have got back yesterday from TX.

I've read Ally's report and I feel bloody sorry for her. As if she's ever done anything but adore Jake and wish the best for him and his family (just like JW I might add). I'm not surprised if PG's feeling pissed off - but we're here for you PG when you want to vent.

God, this business has made me cross...so I'll bugger off and stomp around a bit...

Damaris said...

I'd like to read what Ally said, but I'm new to all the blogs. Can someone help me out and point me in the right direction. ;)

britpopbaby said...

Ally runs IHJ - her post will probably be in the communtiy section but you'll have to join.

Bear with us on PG's report because she's at the Jon Stewart show. Bit of a weird night.

kaydee said...

oh how i wish to be PG at the moment. not only did she spent some of her time close to the family, took part in a hollywood premiere, but she will also see jon stewart in person.

life just can't get better that that. i'm very jealous!

Anonymous said...

I read Ally's comments on IHJ along with someone elses, they have a video of it on youtube. Neither mentioned that Jake was there, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't although it would be odd if they didn't mention him. And what went down it the last few days, I doubt that he would show up there even if he was in NY (which he apparently was).

I got the "weird" vibe from reading their posts, he had to do with Stephen and he response to what happened. It sounded like he was gently scolding Ally and a few other fans. Sigh. It was his publisher Cantara, not the fans.

mrs_dalloway said...

Welcome home,PG!Congrats on the Dunster pictures, that was pro work!

I've read what Ally said..I find it disturbing somehow. But I'll wait for PG's story too.

britpopbaby said...

Jake wasn't there, don't fret. Stayed well and truly out the way.

Anonymous said...

Brits, from reports on IHJ, etc. it does sound like Cantara has put a lot of this on the fan sites and Stephen has taken her word for it. But she was the one who posted the info here? Then she had that post on that blog directed at Stephen, but that the whole internet could see. I really don't want people to be upset at the Gyllenhaal's and now it seems that they are. Cantara seems like a nice lady but I wish you could let her know that this is not being fair and that now folks seem pissed at the Gyllenhaal's. Oy!

kaydee said...

they have smth against the fans?

they better not forget that those fans are the ones who buy their films and their books and shit.

okay I read the entire post and I can't tell you how instructional this is for me. GAWD they never taught us any of this in school. Thankfully I have you Britpop and Prophecy girl to teach me.

Now I can't seem to get Mr Gyllenhaals exquisite balls off my mind. :D Does he also have a Halloween Bash as well?

6:56PM: If that's the case I would assume he is headed back to LA? Or will he return to TX where he is at least far away from the paps and he could, i would assume help Lance with the upcoming NYC marathon next month.

justjake said...

I actually think Jake is receiving the award as it's honouring stars for outsanding excellence. We will find out tomorrow maybe?

Well done Jake. You deserve it.You are a marvellous and talented artist in the acting world.

Anonymous said...

I have no idea what went on, so I feel I can comment.(LOL!)I've read various postings on various sites.I think, beginning with Jake, the entire family has had it up to here with the paps. Maggie & Peter each had their fanbase and were chugging along nicely. Jake, too. If he'd confined his work to Donnie Darko, a cult/teen favorite, Proof, and Moonlight Mile, he'd have continued to developed a solid fan base and been an indie darling. But then he did TDAT, which was this big, disaster movie and became MORE well known. Then Jarhead and BBM with it's attendant controversy and an Oscar nomination. Suddenly he's the New Big Thing. So, greater scrutiny of his whole family and his friends. It's like reality TV in it's own way. I think he totally HATES the fact that paps stake out his friend's house when he stays there, follows his friends around disrupting their lives, tails Maggie and Peter, his parents, etc. That video of him taking out the trash was chilling.
He was really pissed off and disgusted. Then I saw pictures of Peter with a black suitcase and pictures of Maggie being admitted to hospital. Internet sites saying 'her water broke' as if it's our business to know that.
It may be that Jake blames his heightened noteriety for all the disruptions to his family and friends and that is very sad and partially true. I think the whole family is feeling very sensitive right now. And I think that Cantara person really screwed up. But I do not think Jake or his family blames the fans OR the fansites. If they are beginning to assign blame they were steered in that direction by a not very astute "analyses" of varoius fansites by someone trying to cover their own ass. I think IHJ and JW and DC Forum should just do what they do and be what they are and give the family the same space, love and respect they always have. There is nothing to apologize for.A family friend receives information from a family member and gleefully posts it on the internet to TWO fansites. It is no longer a private conversation. I think in context of all they were already going thru with the paps, this was the proverbial straw.

Anonymous said...

Kaydee, I don't think the Gyllenhaal's have anything against the fans. I think there is miscommunication going on and I think it seems like Jake, Maggie and the family have had a hard time with paps, not the fans. I honestly don't know what Stephen knows or doesn't know, but I definitely think he and Jake appreciate the fans.

Anonymous said...

Methinks that Jake and Co. are going to be a lot less forthcoming about his whereabouts, NY, TX, LA, MV,etc. I think he has had it with the paps and yes TX and MV seems to be the 2 best places to "hide" but there always seems to be blog reports regarding his comings and goings in TX now which he would be unhappy about. There are places in NY where he can go and not be seen and i'm sure he will take advantage of that.

Anonymous said...

When regular people spot him, I don't think it's as much a problem as the constant harrassment by paps. he's a movie star. He's gonna get noticed. But I think most normal people respect his privacy and don't scream out rude things to him. I definitely understand SG's concerns for his kids.

Anonymous said...

There appears to be something about the concept of fame which is being insufficiently well understood.

Ally should not be made to feel bad - if something's private, don't tell anyone. Voila.

cina said...

To hear Stephen read "At 25" made me cry. So beautiful and full of love.

Anonymous said...

Couldn't get over how much Stephen's voice sounds so much like Jake's... only older.

nice anonymous said...

This is getting more & more like my job, where important communications always come with headings like this:

"For your information only -- do not forward."

OR

"Please cascade to all your teams."

(Gotta love the business world for its lingo.)

In both instances, it's perfectly clear what the sender wants done with the news that he or she is passing on.

Sadly enough, the Gyllenpappa needs to adopt some similar practice -- since he's the patriarch of a famous family -- and Cantara might have to, as well, simply so similar muddles don't occur again. Otherwise, who's to know how much privacy they intend for the news they convey?

But I still don't understand what their concept of the Internet is. There's a difference between keeping something on one's own desktop & posting something on the Internet that someone's just not getting.

Anonymous said...

I think if they are patient, the paps will eventually lose interest in pics of Jake walking around. Jake hasn't had new work come out since BBM. He doesn't put his personal life on public view vis a vis who he's dating anymore. Once Zodiac comes out and he starts working again on his next project, things will change for the better. In context, what they do to Jake isn't half what they do to Brangelina, Vaughaniston, Gwen Stefani, etc. My guess is that they will treat him like Clooney - sporadic interest. There's an ebb and flow to it all.

wtbgirl said...

btw - I sadly report first-hand that there have been quite a few paps lurking around Peter and Maggie's building since last week -so I think maybe emotions are REALLY heightened regarding anything involving the baby.

As anon 7:07 pointed out, I think largely there has been miscommunication going on, compounded with (1) a heightened sense of invasion and insecurity brought on by paps snapping pictures outside hospitals and bascially loitering outside apartments for hours and (2) some inadvertant and non-malicious, but nonetheless real, mistakes, made on the part of Poppa's publisher.

I wasn't at the second reading (wtbgirl has been cut down by evil, nasty cold/flu/bug of death), but it sounds more like a general "Let's move on" sort of tone than anything else. But I am curious about PG's thoughts on the reading.

Anonymous said...

wtbgirl - it sounds more like a general "Let's move on" sort of tone than anything else

And that is what we should do - let's move on.

Damn! Can't the Mayor or the Governor or the police do something about this??It's obscene!
They passed some laws in California to try to curb some of this! I didn't need to see pics of Maggie going into hospital.

I remember when Rachel Weisz had her baby and the paps were all over them with a two or three day old baby. No wonder so many celebs live elsewhere and only come in to NYC or LA for work. Very sad.

wtbgirl said...

There are some restrictions on loitering in NYC - however, unfortunately they do not apply to paps, who can sucessfully argue that they are protected under the First Amendment and may freely snap away - city sidewalks are traditional public forums in which content-based exclusions of "speech" (forbidding these guys from taking photos would be such an exclsuion) are VERY narrowly drawn to achieve a compelling state interest.

In short, the First Amendment protects these guys so long as they are on public streets, don't step onto private property, don't endanger someone, and don't stop or restrict traffic, etc. (The close proximity and heavy traffic flow in NYC prevents those vans of paps you see in L.A. - here in NYC, at least in the West Village and Soho, all the paps I've seen are on foot.)

Simon - Yeah, I actually try and use Airbourne whenever possible, it actually works - but this cold kind of snuck up on me and before I knew it - wham! I was completely out of commission.

Anonymous said...

So what it boils down to is
1. a panjandrum publisher who has not really had the guts to admit to it.
2. a poetry writing father, who blames two girls instead when he should be taking the blame for being too naïve in his ways of communication
3. an actor, who wants to eat his cake and keep it. Don’t get me wrong. I understand completely that it must have been a hell of a lot of fun in the beginning and very, very, very flattering. One would have to be mighty strong or Heath Ledger, to cut that hilarious little party short. But, the whole Gyllenbodies should be aware, that a good part of the heightened interest in them comes from their beloved Jakey-boy, choosing to let all kinds of imaginations about him fly sky high. You can´t please them all though. As long as he is ambivalent in his attitude and in what he is saying about himself, different groups of people will claim him and clash. This may please him on the one hand, but may ultimately result in harassing by the paps, because they surely know what sells. If he wants a more private life, he should, I think, for once be honest and open about his intentions and his person per se. If he made himself perfectly clear in the public, the general interest in his “little secrets” will vanish and things will cool down for him and for his family. If that is what he desires, I´m quite sure this would work, but maybe he´s still enjoying the nicer parts of this little “charade” a bit too much. He should not whine about the nastier sides to this “fame”, I think.

At least that´s how I see it, and I don´t want to insult anybody. It´s all very human, very intersting and understandable, in the end. Only feel sorry for PG and BPB.

It has even helped cure infected birds...just remember that in case of a outbreak...
if you don't believe me just ask NRM as I posted links to the stories in his blog some months ago...
There was even a chocolate cake recipe which contained Sauerkraut (don't ask me what it tasteslike, I don't know!)

amerita said...

You know all this drama about the leaked info news, I can totally see Maggie and Jake getting upset and their father for inadvertently contributing to their stress with paps and mamaging their peivate live. But in this case Cantara is the only one responsible since she is the ONE who came herself on JW to drop the news. It wasn't that Britpop or anyone else got an e-mail and decide to publish information. She (Cantara) personally put the info on a publicly accessible and well known blog. So that Ally or PG or anyone other than Cantara was made partially responsible and felt like they had to apologize to Stephen Gyllenhaal is absurd. If PG is pissed about this, I can certainly understand.

Miss Cantara might have leaked the information out of excitement and with no negative intention, but trying to throw the blame partially on others, I don't think is fair. SHE should apologize, not to mention learn how to use blogs, e-mail etc. Also, publishing a personal message to Stephen in such a fashion that anyone could see it is really behyond naive!

amerita said...

anon 10:02 while I agree with some of your comments, I don't see what Jake should be so clear about, regarding his personal life. Does he own full public explanation about his inner thoughts? Should he report every day who he slept with the night before? Do you mean he should state weather he is gay, bi or straight once and for good? Sue who then claims the contrary?

Anonymous said...

Amerita, it´s not necessary to sue, tell everyday whatever happened last night and with whom, or whatever.
How he reacts is his choice and he has to deal with what results from his reaction. He is surely media-savvy enough to know what is wise and what isn´t.
However I think it would be absolutely possible that things will cool down if he makes clear what he thinks about this heightened interest, how he deals with it and what he intended by being ambivalent and how he deals with the result, for example. And yes, I do think it would take quite some of pressure out of the matter if he stated he was whatever. I think most of his fans will be fine with whatever he finally states he is.
What he ultimately does is his business and his business alone. In the end he will do what he feels is the right thing to do. However the well-being of his family seems to be disturbed and this may be partly his "fault" if you will, as I tried to explain in my earlier post. He has to deal with it and he surely will. I just don´t see the victim-aspect in this, because as I see it, he did quite a bit to induce this frency. He enjoyed the better sides of his fame and, even if we would wish he would not have to, he has to deal with the less agreeable side of it too.

Simon Agent 002 said...

That because Bird Flu now knows that Sauerkraut has it's number and it's afraid to be wiped out.

and NRM if I could find the link to that post I'd put it here now...

Now for the rest who wish to ruminate over the events of the past days ...alot of what is being said now,was said two days ago in the previous thread.

Look Bird Flu could still break out at any moment and I'm trying to save your lives!....look and learn while there's still time!

Damn, I can't find that cake recipe for WtbGirl, I wanted her to try it and tell me if it works! :P

!0:02 Don't even go there. Nothing in the world justifies the horrible intrusion into the personal lives of Jake's friends many of whom are not public figures and one in particular who has the paps staked outside his apartment 24/7. As a human being, Jake has the right to make decisions about how he conducts his life and who he shares it with. And No One has the right to demand he "explain" himself. I mean WTF! The paps were all over him when he dated Kirsten. Now he is an even bigger film star and no matter what he says or does, they would still be all over him. So your inferences and suggestions aren't worth the time it took you to post them.

As for Jake releasing a statement about his sexual preferences (if that's what anon 10:02 means about him making himself "perfectly clear" about "his little secrets"), he already has. He has stated in the media, "I am not gay, nor am I bisexual, but if I was, I don't think I'd be afraid of it" (that may not be an exact quote but it's pretty close). I don't know how much more clear he can be than to state, "I am not gay, nor am I bisexual. . ."

Did you ever try "Airborne" flu tablets?

Those are pretty good. They're all natural little tablets of completely and totally vile tasting goodness. The film they leave on any glass you toss them in is ghastly to look at.

I have my own views on Babygate but it's kind of interesting to see that everyone seemes to be on the same page so I don't have to make a bulleted list. I am interested in hearing what PG has to say.

Finally, reading, Oh, Mr Gyllenhaal! How you delight us with your exquisite balls! nearly made me lose my shit. That was the best piece of humor I've read in a very long time, good job. I want that single line engraved on my tombstone.

Simon Agent 002 said...

It's very funny, but I'm not sure I'd want it on my headstone....
I want crying and fresh flowers, lots of guilt!!! at my grave!....no laughing please.

But I suppose they could put an arrow "This way to Girl Friday's Tombstone"...that would be ok by me. ;)

He has never commented on the interferring of his life or the rumors about him lately. Maybe it is time to do so. Maybe not. His choice. I don´t want to take back anything I said, I think I made myself clear enough. Sorry that you seem to be too subjective about that matter. I don´t see that you have any reason to get nasty though, cause I surely did not imply that I think this perverse observation is a wonderful thing. Nevertheless he took part in creating the Gyllenhaal and has to live with that, if that suits you or not. Night

Oh,Tinhat's here. Don't believe what you want. FACE THE TRUTH.

So if you don´t know what to say anymore you spin the tinhat routine? How convenient! Is that really all you are able to utter? If so, you may not be better than some at WFT, whose reaction at posts they dislike are just like yours is now. Who is wearing the tinhat now?

Having a degree in Journalism, I find the discussion of media issues rather interesting.

To further complicate the Gyllenhaal family privacy controversy is their alliance with the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), which holds extremely open views regarding the public's right to informational access of all genres.

Sometimes, media freedom can be like an airport: Everyone wants it, but not in their own backyard.

Anonymous said...

I, too have more than a passing familiarity with journalism and media law. I think, too often, the paps deliberately misuse the whole notion of freedom of speech/press. I think that too often harrassment trespassing and even assault is camoflauged as free speech. I'm sure that a camera can, and often is used as a kind of weapon against a subject and verbal harrassment and provocation passes for free speech. In federal court cases where personal privacy is juxtaposed against other issues, 90% of the time, perosnal privacy trumps them. See U.S.Supreme Court ruling on Firestone divorce case. Another well known case,Jacqueline Onassis was able to get a restraining order against Ron Gallela for interfering with her right to walk down a public street.I see nothing contradictory in supporting the ACLU and at the same time, insisting on one's right to personal freedom...yes personal freedom ...and privacy.

So Dany is trolling here again? I thought she was "happy" that her blog is not "approved' of by the Gyllenhaals , she likes being "on the outside". Bull. She created that blog for attention period. And now she has the gall to say that her blog respects Jake's and his friends and family?? Is she on crack?? You can check the recent entries and the archives (If she didn't delete) and find the opposite. She is like the girl who got left home on prom night because no one would ask her out. She is a hypocrite and i wish she and her "fans" would stop posting here and IHJ, it's clear they "dissaprove".

Public's right to informational access does not mean forgeting common sense and decency.

Another phrase to add to the JakeWatch lexicon:

"Anon-a-thon" (Courtesy of The Bearded Lady): Describes what's usually happened when a comment section acquires nearly 30 posts within just a few short hours.

Simon Agent 002 said...

Maybe you can explain to me the public's right to know some movie star's baby birth versus the right of the public to know what politicians and their government is doing in their name?
Since they are one and the same apparently?
The Gyllenhaal's as best as I can understand it, aren't looking to the courts to rectify a transgression of a confidence by a friend
I don't agree with the ACLU on everything...
But like Unions and other organizations that represent the little guy in my book, imperfect as they maybe, we are better off for them.
and I find all too often those who point to some wild instance to support their aversion to them....on closer examination of the facts turns out to be more erroneous propaganda of those with a Right wing (Corporate)agenda.

12:20, come back to WFT so Sarah920 and Dany can tear you a new asshole like they did earlier. Hurts to know you don't count doesn't it? Stop sullying JW with your presence.

Anonymous said...

I'm a member of the ACLU. Here's the thing. If I'm at the theatre watching a film and there are some people in the theatre talking and causing a disturbance,as a result of my complaint, they are thrown out of the theatre. Have I infringed on their right to free speech. No.I have not. They infringed on my right to peaceably enjoy the movie.

I remember very well what it was like when I came home from the hospital with my newborn. To think that there were hordes of photographers camped outside the door and that people had to run a gauntlet every time anyone came in or out is just horrible. How absolutely hellish. I can't imagine it. The police should roust them for disturbing the peace, for loitering, for harrassment, for spitting on the sidewalk, for littering, anything!

Being new to blogging, I'm confused. How is it that one "anonymous" knew the identity of another "anonymous,"
and not only the identity, but how many posts belonged to that person as well?
(Is there really such a thing as "anonymous"?) ;)

Anonymous said...

Just for the record: This was not Danyelle Dillon posting, nor am I one of the WFT-guys. It´s appalling that some of you find it necessary to smear and insult someone because he/she might have a more objective view on things, which obviously you are unable to have. Might be due to the tight tinhats you are wearing, even when you are only able to see them on others. Thanks everyone, who tried to discuss this matter like adults. While I am not knowledgeable enough to discuss American law concerning media, I appreciate your insight. Sorry britpop, that some guys here seemed to get rubbed the wrong way, your blog surely would look better without them.

Anon-a-thon v

1. Multiple postings by anonymous, unknown persons usually of a gossipy based nature.

2.Those anonymous posters fleeing WFT or other such sites due to boredom and a need to share their "love".

3. Those who post anonymously with a veiled desire to cause a conflict.

By the way in case anyone wasn't aware a few months back Brit politely asked that we try to avoid Jake's personal life out of respect to him.
She didn't object to lighthearted, good natured postings.
There are gossip blogs which will gladly welcome that discussion without causing offense.
Much as the one the previous "Anonymous" refered to in their post.

Intolerance will kill mankind.

Anonymous said...

I look at it this way, if I see someone being stabbed on the street.
I don't stand by and watch out of a need to be tolerant of such behavior.
Malicious gossip is mean, it hurts, and is cruel.
No one deserves to be the subject of it.
Famous or not.
Jake doesn't owe anyone a explaination of his sexlife or lovelife to satisfy those who would continue to pick, until he provides some proof or explaination that satisfies them.
Funny thing is when the gossip lovers finish with their victim ...
They tire and move on to the next new thing.
It's the "gossiping" that's "loved" not Jake.

The previous anon you refer to is the troll that has been posting nasty, insulting comments on WFT for months. You can keep him.

Anonymous said...

Bullshit 1:48. Comparing intolerance of a different opinion to someone being stabbed on the street is utterly stupid. Get the fuck over it. You can't tell someone what being a proper fan is because judging by the latest scandal none of us are. But we know that is not true. So can the bs.

I'm still waiting for PG's report. Damn, I remember when all this Jake stuff was fun. *pouts* The problem of course is fandom has a life of it's own. I have friends because of this weird little hobby of lusting after Jake so I still want to talk to all the folks I've met and laugh over the silliness but this whole situation has been draining and unfun. I can get draining and unfun at work. I dont' want to feel like my attention/adoration is a burden. The sad part is none of this is Jake's fault. He didn't blab anything to anyone but nevertheless, my fan feelings have an unmistakable stinch wafting about them now... :o(

Anonymous said...

Awww! Don't feel down. I believe in my bones Jake appreciates his fans very much and I think his family does too. I have never heard otherwise. And I've just seen the pics and he looks beautiful in that tuxedo suit.
Glad Robert Downey, Jr. and Lance were along to show their support.
Wish there was video so I could hear all the lovely things that were said about him, and his acceptance speech. He is such a class act!

amerita said...

Yes, really nice pics indeed. I like Robert Downey, I really do. He has beautiful eyes and he is an amazing actor as well.
So Lance went along with Jake? That's great. And if it is true that Jake went to Austin to the birthday of Lance's son I think is really sweet. Hope not to hear any nasty comment about their friendship because I do believe it is quite genuine (Though I am sure I will).
Hope we can put all the recent mess behind. The more one talk about it the more it becomes an issue, I feel. Jake looks fine and quite happy in the pics and that is what matters.
Squall, please remember what you just said. Jake did not say publicly ONE single word about this matter.

Simon Agent 002 said...

"I dont' want to feel like my attention/adoration is a burden."

Yes, Squall that's exactly what I've been mulling over. I think Mr. Gyllenhaal was trying to give a gentle hint when in his question and answer...he suggested we focus on our own lives.

I wrote Cina this afternoon about this and I will send you a copy in the board now.

Every single person has experienced fandom to some degree or another. Even Jake's parents. Even Jake. There's nothing unusual about admiring someone and wanting to meet them. I mean, Jake was a huge admirer of Lance's before they ever met. So it's not something they don't appreciate or understand. How often have we heard some film star at an awards event talking about wanting to finally get to meet someone they admire? I think SG's comments were in reference to people who make fandom dominate their lives. And maybe there's some concern about fans who become unbalanced and stalk someone. But I really don't think he meant being a fan is wrong. And you'd have to be a post to ignore the fact that Jake is gorgeous. I mean he is physically beautiful and part of it is his personality that shines out. Jake's special. To assume one needs to pay more attention to one's own life is a bit misguided.IMVHO. I think most people have lives, lovers, friends, work, other interests. My fna interest in Jake is to admire his beauty, his work and read every little thing I can get my hands on LOL! But I do have a life. And interest in Jake has translated into interest in Claptrap and poetry readings, so it's all good.

SquallCloud said...

Yah, I know you're all right. I'm just feeling ... meh right now. I'll pep up and get back into my Agent training again in no time!

Simon Agent 002 said...

I believe they appreciate fans and I think even Jake may to some degree understand (I'm thinking of his answer when asked about the blogs after the Bafta's)
the level of internet attention has grown over the last 6mos....not all of it very kind either...what may seem to me, good natured ribbing about his sneakers of beard or movie role choices...might seem to be just piling on with the rest of the crap out there.
I don't wish to offend and now I wonder if I've been seen in that light?
Like Squall said she enjoys her friends on the internet but doesn't want to be a burden to someone she cares about.
