I CAN'T KEEP UP WITH ALL THIS CUTENESS!
Apparently Blogger doesn't like this post because it refused to publish it for, like, EVER. Anyway, there are about 150,000 other pictures from this set over on IHJ. I'm not even lying. It's an embarrassment of riches, the likes of which is making it difficult for me to be snarky. How do you say something sarcastic when there's Gyllenarm linkage?! We are going to have to keep an eye on this Jamie Lee Curtis situation, though. We're dangerously close to a Back Away From My Man intervention, although I'm willing to let it slide for now on account of aforementioned cuteness.EDIT: And then the clouds opened up and God said, "I love you, Gyllenhaalics." So, apparently, allegedly, possibly, within a week, you will be able to see Jake (briefly) on the big screen, as the trailer for Zodiac premieres with the release of The Departed. It must be because of our dutiful Sock Watching that God loves us so.

In picture No. 2, I wonder what Jamie just finished saying to Jake that really blew his mind? He looks like he's going: "Oooh, girl, you are SO BAD." (Do you think she's tempted to overstep the bounds of her quasi-parental relationship as his godmother? At least, I'd like to think she is.)

oh God this is too much! In the second pic he is SOOO adorable!
That clean-shaven face is so fine -- there's nothing to distract one's eye from his beautiful bone structure and his perfectly chiseled lips.
And I didn't know he'd look so good in those sandy sort of earth tones.
Jake is so very handsome that I'm a little afraid for him sometimes -- I fear that it will invite divine retribution.
(If I saw him walking down the street in the West Village, my knees would be trembling & I'd have to lean against a brick wall for a minute to collect myself. Never mind saying "hi" or daring to make eye contact. He emanates such a forcefield of sexual attractiveness that it would nearly stun me into immobility. My hormones would be paralyzed at the spectacle of such superior male genetic material on parade in public.)
There is nothing more wonderful than a strong, close family. The Gyllenhaals, and their extended family (yea godmother Jamie Lee Curtis!), are a shining example of what is good and right in this world. Strong families are the bedrock of our future (trust me on this one, little ones).

At first I was put off a bit by clean shaven Jakey. But now I love it. I've decided it must be that I love Jakey "no matter what."

In picture No. 1, I think Jake's on the verge of doing some fidgety shirt-fondling, like that one picture we saw where he stuck his hand inside & started playing with the hem.
I'm so glad Jake chose to wear a light-colored shirt, so we could admire the shape of all those muscles he's worked so hard at developing over the past few months. He's looking like an anatomical model, practically.
The only thing that would have made this set of photos even better was if Jake took off his sunglasses for a minute, so we could see his blue, blue eyes.
I think I just died of cuteness.
And Jake looks like a boot camp instructor in that green shirt and khakis. Which is appealing.
Since Jaime Lee is Jake's godmother and I have always liked her even before Jake, I am trying not to be jealous that she spent the day not only hanging out with Jake but hanging all over his delicious body!!

OMG! If the family stays together, hanging around NYC waiting for Baby, maybe there will be some who will attend the poetry reading in SoHo at the Zinc Bar???? And don't we have agents in place in the West Village area in case Jake has to go out all by himself once in a while? Maybe Naomi and Stephen are helping Megs move into her new Brooklyn abode? Poor Maggie can hardly deal with moving house. She has all she can do to move herself one foot at a time. Jake looks SO protective of her in the pics of them together.
Ah. This IS why I love Jake. Such liveliness. Such joyousness. So truthful to himself.
Jamie does Jake good. See how she brought out all his life which was kind'v suppressed among other Gyllenhaals. Jake looks soo at ease and blooming with her.
I always like Jamie but now I love her for that.
Still thinking about these pictures. It's like a "power walk." The Gyllenherd is showing what a strong, supportive family it is -- that Maggie & Jake are both encompassed within its protective embrace. And it's a reminder that they have powerful friends. And that even if Jamie's father refused to see "Brokeback Mountain," it hasn't damaged the ties of friendship & respect between the two clans: Go, Maggie, go Jake.
I don't know if Jake has much of a chance in the upcoming Awards season, depending on what the hell they do with promoting "Zodiac." But it seems like quite a year for Maggie, with all these lead & supporting roles.
