WOOHOO! YEAH, BABY, THAT'S WHAT WE LIKE.

IT'S BOO with some bloke! I'm updating the Paparazzi Bingo card as we speak.

Pics from IHJ.com

UPDATE: Paparazzi Bingo

Controversy: Is that background dog in the first picture carrying a basketball or is it just a non-descript run-of-the-mill red ball? God, I'm not sure I can take the stress!

Oh, Boo will now be a very contented pup. Wonder what Jake's reading. (This is about the time when I look at the books stacked up for my summer reading & realize I'd been overambitious.)

Anonymous said...

Aww, how sweet, Jake and the doggies!! Poor guy doesn't look happy to see the paps. :(

And Brit, if it wasn't for "some bloke" we wouldn't have Boo, or his gorgeous smile, talented acting, great body, blue eyes, etc, etc.lol. ;)

Anonymous said...

This just in! Movie star learns how to read!

Seriously though, I wonder what book that is.

nice anonymous said...

Incidentally, can anyone lend support for a theory of mine, that Jakes changes his footwear more often than he changes his pants or his shirt?

mrs_dalloway said...

It wasn't exciting enough seeing new pics of Jake, now we have Paparazzi Bingo, too! How on earth are going to make people around us in real life endure our behaviour?:D

JoyceDavenport said...

^^^ quote from Prophecy Girl: 'Real life is overated'. Should be on a T shirt.

Nice anon- I think Jake probably does change his shoes more than any other visible piece of clothing. In the UK 'pants' are er...under garments-what do you call them as you call 'trousers' 'pants'?

I hope he changes his undergarments more often than his T'S!

Prophecy Girl said...

And I stand by that statement! :D

Boo plus red shoes?! This is the BEST. DAY. EVER!!!

Yes best day ever!!!!! Finally BOO is back :)(and he walks all by himself).

I'd buy one in a heartbeat! And the back of the T should say something like ... 'Cyberfriends forever...' :-)

How sweet is boo.

You all must draw attention to the egregious slight taking place in these pictures! While Boo is tethered to a leash, Atticus is roaming about freely, not a leash in sight! Does this mean that Jake is more concerned about losing Boo than he is Atticus? Or is Boo just a slippery little sucker who could sneak away at anytime while Atticus is a well-behaved pet? I think we need to debate this one intensely...

nice anonymous said...

Maybe Boo is more aggressive with other dogs, and Atticus is more mellow?

Wasn't there a yappy exchange in that one famous beach walk, between Boo & a pointer?

Anonymous said...

man....i wish he'd take his shirt off!!! that body is looking really good under there!!!!!

Anonymous said...

There's a bunch of other dogs in the background -- is it some kind of pound? Is he depositing Boo and Atticus, or choosing more dogs?

penny lane said...

I wonder if he is reading Bill Buford's 'Heat' which has a chapter on Buford working as Mario Batali's kitchen slave...??
Buford is the author of some hysterical books on the UK and the US way-of-life.

britpopbaby said...

^Ooo, I read an article on that. From what I read Mario doesn't actually spend much time cooking.

Aw ...poor Atticus!! You have gone and done it again Baby....poor Atticus snubbed again! :(

Poor guy....daddy brings home a new little brother and he gets forgotten about....it's like Robert in Everybody Loves Raymond.

Simon Agent 002 said...

Note Atticus doesn't require a leash.

Boo does.

Bruinsmama said...

What is he reading?? We MUST find out!
My how Boo is growing.
This is such a tough week for me, and it is funny how these pics create a diversion that is oddly soothing/comforting.
How I wish I could afford a thereapist!
Better yet, a full fledged nervous breakdown.
BTW, LOVE the shoes!!!!!!!!

Kendra said...

I thought that Pg quote was: "Reality is highly overrated" that would be on a black T-shirt or another like "Reality bites, but not Boo",;)

The Bearded Lady said...

How I wish I could afford a thereapist!

My experience is they are often in need of one themselfves.

LisaSmile said...

Look how much Boo has grown, he's really much bigger than when Jake still carried him in his arms. Such a cute, cute dog. Athough there's also so much character in Atticus. Great dogs the man has. And great facial hair.

LisaSmile said...

And could Jake please finish this walk shirtless.

Just LOOK at that definition under that shirt!!

claire said...

I think Boo gets too much attention and I feel a bit sorry for Atticus - i mean, I don't even think Attiboy even has a myspace site does he? I bet Boo hogs the computer at home and then when Atticus tries to have a go on it, Boo goes crying to daddy and then Jake gets all fatherly and takes pity on the young one.

Anyway, enough of that, jake...phwooar!!

Simon Agent 002 said...

he's not playing fair pulling out the Boo card.

Anonymous said...

I think Atticus is sans a leash because Jake wants him free to jump on the paps if they get out of hand.

Sorry to say if it was Boo doing the attacking the paps would just laugh :( But hey I love both those dogs!

britpopbaby said...

Boo is ultimate second child syndrome. It's like Atticus has to fend for himself down the old dog park.

SquallCloud said...

nice anon you are so right! Jake collects and wears sneakers like a black man. He really does. All I need to see is him rocking some Jordans and I will just guffaw.

Nice to see him out with the doggies. I don't really like pets or anything but it's nice to see him with his boys all the same.

smurfette said...

ok, I have a confession, i love the dogs, but the book thing? how hot is that? i desperately have to find out what book he’s reading! i may have to browse barnes and noble this weekend to find a new hardback with that cover. this is actually an obsession of mine (i know, one of many, when it comes to jake). i love that all evidences point to the fact that jake is an avid reader. (i’ve actually been collecting the evidence for a while now, and one of my new things is to find out what books he’s reading, and i gotta say, so far, he’s had really good taste!) anyway, at the risk of coming off as even more of a lunatic that i have already, i figure now’s as good a time as any to share these with you.

october sky aol interview: little jake, on break from columbia, talks about being more of a literature guy than a science guy, but that the logic behind the science in october sky was how he tapped into the character he was playing.

ihj pap pics: in addition to a handful of pics out there from the past few years, especially in nyc, where he can be seen coming out of a bookstore with a few books, he’s been seen carrying reading, such as a book, the new york times, or the new yorker (which i love) with him on frequent occasion.

some jarhead interview online: he talks about anthony swofford being among the new generation of male voices that he really identifies with (or something like that), along with james frey (this was obviously before smoking gun blew his “memoir” into a million little pieces—ok, bad pun) and jonathan safran foer (who i love!). i think he mentions another book too, but I can’t remember or find the interview anymore =(. sometime around this time, he also mentions reading “a year of magical thinking”—i think in a print interview somewhere where they butchered the title.

so back to the ihj pap pics: you know the famous ones at the hotel pool with kirsten? while checking out the series—i noticed he was reading some orange-ish book, but i could only make out part of the title, “…-ing on the right side of…” i looked up books with that title online and aha, i think i found a match! “the new drawing on the right side of the brain”—doesn’t it look similar?

ok, i’ll stop now that I’ve bored you all to tears (though the book geek in me wants to continue!)

wtbgirl said...

Interesting, it seems like in LA they call it a dog park, in NYC it's a dog run.

In terms of why Boo may be leashed and not Atticus, it's probably the temperment. In the last years there have been an explosion of puggles in my dog run, and while they are really, really sweet, in terms of temprment, they are the combination of not one, but two, HIGH energy breeds - the pug and the beagle. They run around like crazy, and there is no way, if i had one, would I leave it unleashed outside the confines of the fenced-in dog run - the little guy could run right into the street! (Also, well, in NYC it's illegal to keep your dog unleashed outside a dog run, so that's another reason). But my dog, a big pooch like Atticus, is completely mellow (as many larger breeds actually are) - I think the only thing that would make him suddenly bolt is a wayward squirrel (or outside at night, the unfortunate spottage of "night squirel" - i.e. the large-ass city rat). Ah, urban living.

moonbeams said...

Thanks, Brit. Love Jakey, love the dogs, but I agree. he needs to ditch the t-shirt....he is driving me crazy! Somebody please tell him, it's just too hot for all those clothes, baby. My how Boo has grown!

Smurfette, I am SO with you on this one! Yeah, the dogs are sweet and all, but my first thought was - what's that he's reading?! I even nipped over to ihj to check the pic series, which I very seldom do! That rundown on Jake's reading habits was brilliant!

I have on occasion wondered who looks after Jake's dogs when he's away from L.A ... happened across this snippet just today in an article called Doggie Delights, about the pet boarding industry:

L.A. Dogworks in Los Angeles, which says its customers include Jake Gyllenhaal's Atticus and Nicole Richie's Honeychild and Foxy Cleopatra, offers a "Zen Den" — touted as an "eastern retreat" to promote the "total wellness experience" through massages, aromatherapy and other services.

http://www.thnt.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060807/LIFE05/608070425/1006

Seems like Atticus get his share of pampering, then!!

moonbeams said...

Thanks, Elle! This was MOST reassuring! I, too was the eldest. My younger brother recieved all the attention. (I sometimes like to say my brother is an only child!) So I really, really identified with Pooratticus. Now, I feel SO much better...

anon 3:14 that story sounds like it should have seventies style porno music going in the background. i highly doubt it's true and if it is...i'm sure bongo boy and sweet jacob would be distressed to find it splattered across the internet. that chick should watch it. i think she's slandering.

gin said...

smurfette...i looked up that book, too, "drawing on the right side of the brain", once i saw he was reading it. (i enlarged the picture...no i'm not a stalker). oh, i also once saw a pic of him with this book "larva" by julian rios...which i checked out only to find that jake is significantly more brilliant than me b/c it made not one ounce of sense. i couldn't get past the first page. i felt dumb. sorry for the double post...i was just perusing. ok. i'm out. :)

yeah, gin, i browsed that book too and didn't much get it-- have to admit its low on my list of required jake-reading =P.

whoa, regarding that co-ed magazine article... WTF? just some girl's fantasy, right? somehow i don't think jake's the type to wander into a starbucks shirtless... especially with the paps so close on his tail lately. matthew m, yeah, but the only time we've seen jake without a shirt (outside of movies) is on a beach or pool-side. and even those pics are from a while back. i've been having the feeling lately that he's trying to deny the paps of that shirtless summer pic we've been waiting for. the unzipped bike top was the best we've had. anyway, i have no idea what's up with that article...

moonbeams said...

I read the link. Total fiction. Jakey would never walk into Starbucks all sweaty without a shirt on! LOL!

Jan from Canada said...

Somewhat off topic....I thought I'd mention to everyone that this Wednesday, they will be re-airing Jake's appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show celebrating her 400th episode (that's when he gives her a huge bouquet of roses if memory serves me!). It's also when Ellen tries to get Jake to take his shirt off, LOL!

Okay I hope hope hope Jake does not get his dogs masaged and shit. Like I said I'm not into pet ownership but I feel about unnecessary pet pampering the way brit feels about golf. BLECH!

Speaking of PB is it possible to bring the old card up each time an event happens and either cross off or fade the color out of the pics that come up. We have the dogs taken care of. What else?

Anonymous said...

Guys, that "article" about the Jake/Matt/girl threesome is from CO-ED Magazine which seems like a satirical site like The Onion. So it is definitely fake. The site also has a serious mention of Richard Kelly and DD here.

SquallCloud said...

One more thing and I promise I will shut the fuck up. Frank is going to be hard as hell!

The Bearded Lady said...

I'm sure he has his dogs groomed on a regular basis.
Atticus always looks well combed.
I suppose if this "dogworks" offered such services how could Jake deny them?
I'm not distrubed by that if he spoils his dogs.
The sneekers are very distrubing! lol...I'm think of old 1960's bowling shoes my father had.
and it coordinates with the book jacket?... by accident?
I must be in a different generation for sure...because thats two fashion styles that escape me
1) baggie jeans ready to fall off.(dumb)

2) gaudy sneekers...do u really want peoples eyes to go directly to your feet?

When I get old I'll be like Orson Welles...all in black! lol

Anonymous said...

6:15PM It's confusing because they have actual real articles posted there unlike The Onion, which is 100%. I thought Co-ed magazine was a "legit" magazine? Not saying the story is true, but it's ballsy to post it there.

moonbeams said...

Think about it. If the story had a shred of truth...and she had her pic of a sleeping Matthew, she could have sold that story to a number of tabloids who'd have been more than happy to print it even if they had to say "allegedly" at the beginning of every paragraph. I'm not saying it couldn't have happened...I just think she's full of crap. I've never thought of Jakey as a goody two shoes. But I do think he has judgement and he's discreet. (That's why he got the hell out of there!LOL!!) Maybe she did run into them at Starbucks. And the rest is a product of her overheated imagination. I just think she was an ass to post it.

dani said...

I love Jake but I really don't like those shoes. He has some black and white ones like that that look better. My son has the same b/w pair. I don't know where Jake shops but I bought my son's at Target!

....And that threesome story sounds as phony as a three dollar bill.

jla said...

Jake's rather expansive sneaker collection rivals my brother's! If my brother gets his white Nike's dirty(inevitable?) he buys another pair!! Like they are damn disposable tissues! @Smurfette and my other fellow literary lovers...I too am very interested in what Jake is reading !! I am sure he more than influenced my decision to re-read To Kill A Mockingbird earlier this summer! But that's really not strange you guys, most of the books I read lately have been recommendations from other people. Or maybe that's just my rationalization for my increasingly unhealthy preoccupation with Jake!

For those of you who love the idea – like me – that Jake seems to be a reader: Jake did an interview in New York in December of last year with journalist Dave Mestdach of the serious Belgian magazine ‘Knack’, in which he said that he had 70 more filming-days of Zodiac left and that he couldn’t wait to take a break and read all those books that had been piling up beside his bed. He said he barely could get into bed anymore..!

About paparazzi Bingo, I think we should cross “pissed” and “benz” too.

He is pissed and we can see the wheel of the car.

Can we put random animal too or is it for other animals, not dogs? So funny,we try and make the best of these pics :))

britpopbaby said...

I have no official confirmation that the car wheel in shot is 'The Benz' so I'm not counting it - good try though.

And he's just not angry enough for me to feel that he is comfortably 'pissed'. Not that I wish Jake any ill but I kinda want to see a flying rage at some point.

I like the idea of random animal being anything other than a dog. Makes it harder. My ultimate random celeb would be Richard Simmons. I love to read too but I like strange stuff. I wonder if he's ever read "Geek Love" by Katherine Dunn. That book is a trip!

Oooo brit also made "pissed" harder because we've seen him looking pissy but not actually getting angry. Even when someone is being an ass *cough, Isaach Mizrahi, cough* he still maintains his mask of civility.

SquallCloud said...

Also, it's my birthday so if anyone is sitting on some Jakey/Sarsy pics I would take it as present if you'd post them. *angelic smile*

I think it's great that Jake takes the time to train his dogs. Atticus is probably off leash because he is older and more advanced in his training. Note that he is heeling off-leash, an advanced skill, but also more of a natural skill for a shepherd than for a puggle. Jake does a great job of demonstrating responsible dog ownership, unlike some other celebs who treat their dogs like fashion accessories.

penny lane, that stack of books in his bead is soo HOT! though jake +stack of books + smurfette would be hotter haha… painful, but hot.

oh, this is random but re: the paparazzi discussion, i just heard an old jarhead radio interview where the dj mentions he saw jake’s new puggle in a picture on pinkisthenewblog, and asked if jake found it weird that there are people taking pics of him when he doesn’t even know. jake said it was weird, and a lot of times he doesn’t know they’re around, or they pop out of nowhere, but then also said that “it’s all good” and that when you become an actor, you kind of know it comes with the territory. so it’s not like he *enjoys* it obviously, but he’s okay with it.

ooh britpop—so you want a pissed picture more along the lines of him going a little beserk on the photog? hmmm, that’s like jarhead sexy. not to provoke you, but c’mon jake, everyone’s doing it (sienna, kate moss, matthew mc, even sweet natalie!)
