ATTICUS VS. BOO: IS JAKE SHOWING FAVORITISM?
I was going through some old pictures over at IHJ and came across a disturbing piece of evidence which suggests something I hardly thought possible: Jake Gyllenhaal is not perfect. Scandal! Take a look at this!
Unbelievable! According to a random dog body-language interpretation site I found via Google, Atticus is showing some unmistakable signs of stress! The ears back? The tongue out? Our site tells us that's a dog who is "stressed" likely by a situation of "frustration or fear." The standard explanation for this photo, that Atticus was "tired" from "playing" with Jake was not one of the options the website listed! In fact, the site didn't mention Jake at all.

Is this exhaustion physical or emotional? Only time will tell. But I think we all might want to consider the possibility that Jake is giving most of his attention to the newest member of the family, ignoring those who have been around a little longer.
Possibly most disturbing of all, I have uncovered the dastardly truth that even though I know for a fact that Jake told Atticus he couldn't use the internet until he was older, he has already let younger brother Boo set up his own MySpace page. The inequality here is just shocking.

(P.S. Inequality aside, you should add Boo to your MySpace friendlist since his profile was created in affiliation with this blog.)

Hilarious post BPB!
I hope Boo accepts me as his friend. He seems pretty particular. The rejection might crush me for good.
Oh dear, I mean Hilarious Post Prophecy Girl! Have fun running the show!
LMFAO!
You and BPB make a great team PG!
maby we just got a bad shot and he loves both dogs the same, but who knows
i love boos myspace its so cute!!!!
I didn't read it properly at first.I thought it said "Ears hack"
LOL
LOL!
but as someone who had kept both small and big dogs, i have to jump to Jake's defense... small-sized dogs tend to be a bit more too attention seeking then larger-sized dogs. Dogs like Boo can be emotional dependend and "unstable", he probably clings to Jake more. (on the other hand - WHO in the right mind wouldn't????)
I just went to Boo's myspace. How come he is 24?He can't be anymore then 14 in dog years!
Yes of course Boo...Boo is so tiny and cute , perpetual puppy...how could you say no to him?
Atticus, on the other hand , has a past...all those memories ...all the baggage .... how can he compete?....
Atticus I can feel your frustration...really I can!
Small dogs get babied more. And we have seen Jake carry him like one.And i have to admit,i love it when i see it.lol
i have to agree small dogs do need more attention
I'm sort of in love with Boo's name. I think he's one of those dogs with an excess of personality: Scrappy, very vocal, bouncy, energetic, demanding, eager to play & fight (rather like his father, no? ;-).
And I magine that Boo often eyes Jake's various acting awards, lined up on a mantelpiece or something in Jake's apartment. He's dying for one to tip over & fall to the floor, so that he can drag it, like a chew toy, underneath a piece of furniture & pretend he's in his cave, gnawing on the bones of something he's hunted down & killed. (That BAFTA is going to have toothmarks on it, yet.)
Atticus just lies on the cool floor, watching, & covers his paws with his nose. He's a far nobler & calmer creature. By now, he's resigned to the kid's behavior.
Oh, nice anonymous. That was beautiful! I'm SO not a dog person but I think I could put up with Jake's. :)
Poor Atticus, his first mom Kirsten comes and goes out of his life, then dad gets this little pup he carries around like a baby. Maybe Atticus wants to be carried sometime!
Actually, I am a dog trainer and there was one picture of Jake walking him on leash. The chain collar was on backwards (which can hurt the dog) and was so tight on his neck. I hated thinking of jake as a bad dog dad so I just didn't look at the picture and went backto the ones of him holding boo like a baby!
Atticus, don't worry, Jake loves you too! You attacked Kirsten for him, I'm sure he remembers that. Prophecy Girl, applause on your temporary takeover. You're doing BPB proud.
And I adore Boo's myspace.
Prophecy Girl,
Were you channeling Britpopbaby?
I love this post...right down to the dog behaviour site! LOL....and the fade in and fade out...nice
I hope Brit gets to an internet cafe or has a lap top...
Atticus must feel vindicated!
Did Atticus attack Kirsten? When? Are you joking?lol
^^^ No, it's the best picture ever, I promise. He's obviously just playing with her, but his size and her expression just make a classic pic. It's on IHJ somewhere (I know, I'm being so helpful here); maybe someone else has a better idea of where it is (hint hint)?? I'd look up now, but I kind of have to go to bed.
Poor Atticus lol!
I love the Atticus attacks Kirsten's hand bag pic hee! I actually am not a fan of pet ownership and some folks kiss their dogs in the mouth which is disgusting and Jake strikes me as the type to do that but since it's Jake I'll put up with it ... until I can break him out of such behavior. ;o)
Just goes to show once again that the cuter you are and the less you weigh, the more attention you get. It's a bias that goes across species lines.
Thanks prophecy girl.I will have to go and look for it.Sounds funny.lol
PG, I do believe you are taking up the Jake Watch mantle in STELLAR style, my dear! Fantastic!
PG what a great post. Maybe Atticus just needs some water!
What can I say PG? You managed to make me choke on my breakfast too! Last morning it was Britpop's biography, and now it's the obnoxious Boo Radley! Brilliant, PG! :-) I hope I'm worthy of becoming his friend...
And Atticus dear - we LURVE you veeery much too! *cross my heart* Lick your dad in the face from me, will you?
Atticus might be frustrated.
and feeling second best...but his coat looks beautifully groomed...
I'd like to picture Jake on the floor brushing his coat...but more likely doggie groomers...
Which is it Atticus?...you can tell us...
awww, poor old atticus - where is his myspace site?
And dogs aside, I love Jakes hair in this pic - just the right length to bedhead ratio

From anon 6.12 (really have to get a name one these days)Have to get a life too,but that's another story.
Thanks penny lane,it's hilarious. What is even funnier to me is that Jake is just carrying on folding up the leash while Kirsten is laden down with god knows what and nearly brought to the ground by an excited Atticus.I would have laughed my head,if that had happened. Not because it's KD,just because it's my sense of hunmour and i would laugh if it was anyone.I didn't find the pic,so appreciate you posting the link for me.
I did find another one though where an excited poodle is about to leap on her back because K is about to sit on anothers dog head.LOL.KD is blissfully unaware of the oncoming attack.Too busy waving at the camera!

Thanks, Prophecy Girl -- but you must keep in mind that, if you are involved with a man who's got a few dogs in his life, you should expect certain things to happen.
Accept that, at your first meeting, the dog's nose will be nudging at many places where you don't necessarily welcome it -- and although the dog's owner will politely pull away his pet, with profuse apologies, he'll secretly be rather amused by this.
Then there's always the click-click of dog toe-nails on floors in the background, as a sort of soundtrack to your life. And the sound of their heartfelt sighs, and their noisy lapping, as they splash water all over the place from their water bowls. (And I won't even mention the pungency of dog farts ...)
And if anything really gets going between you & the dog owner, while you're reclining on the sofa or the bed, sometimes the dogs will come in, sit down &, er, watch what's happening, and perhaps even bark a little, if they're excitable, until they're shooed away.
Also, in the morning, you & the dog owner can't get too distracted by each other's charms, since one of you has to haul yourself up out of bed & take the dogs for a walk.
So, in the beginning, it's best to suggest that the dog owner come over to **your** place, until you are ready to be taken home to meet his canine companions. (It's sort of like meeting the parents.) But don't be surprised if the dog owner departs a little earlier than you want him to, because "Atticus & Boo have to be fed & walked, and I haven't been able to get one of my assistants on her cellphone."
Forget dogs, cats rule!
Poor Atticus - Jake plays favorites!! I've noticed it too. How lame and predictable of small dog owners. Big dogs rule - stupid lil dogs are taking over. Boooooo!!!
Yay Boo is my friend!

thats the most retarded thing i've ever heard...just cuz he's petting one of his dogs doesn't mean he doesn't care for the other one just as much. this must be a joke.
