CANADA BACKS GYLLENHAAL'S ROGUE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

Bold move, Nation of Canada.

The Jake in '08 campaign, fresh off the victory of being highlighted in Jake Watch's coveted Quote of the Week, has now received an honor only slightly less impressive: a mention in the Canadian National Post.

From this, it is painfully obvious to me that Canada wants Jake to be President of the United States. (See the new Canadian poster below; as of today, they are showing up everywhere, and by "everywhere," I mean in one awkwardly specific niche of the Jake Gyllenhaal blog world and probably nowhere else).

I would like to take this opportunity to give a shout-out to the Jake Watch constituency. Despite the fact that IHJ is mentioned in the piece, ALL of the questions Jake answered were submitted by Jake Watch readers. But that was probably obvious because I'm sorry, no other part of the Jake fandom would come up with questions as awesome as ours.

Thank you Welliwont (for Boo...finally we get the truth) and Cherita (for Jake in '08 AND cilantro AND the internet question...holy shit, it's like you interviewed him yourself, except without the satisfaction of being there or having him know it was you) and any other reader who submitted a question and/or submitted a plea that one of the other questions be asked. Well done, team. We did good this week in thrusting ourselves in front of the Gyllenhaal. In a decidedly non-erotic way, of course.

Wow I get the first comment!

WTF is that about cilantro? Thats pretty random, I've never even heard of it! Are we really living such a sheltered existence in the British Isles (I think 'Great Britain' is a tad pretentious, dont you?)?

Ha I love that Sars wasnt wearing socks! I take it from the journo's air of disdain that he wasnt wearing sandles...!

Also, note to self: if ever meeting the Gyllenhaal, wear skirt and smudge grease on leg for approving comment :-)

Amazing poster and awesome tag! I wish they'd pressed the candidate for more of his views.

PG, this is for you:

Mounty!Jake can mount me anytime.

Excellent artwork, my dear.

By the way, actually three of the total questions asked were mine. I was also responsible for the "Do you ever read anything about yourself on the internet?" question. *bows to applause* Seriously, the rest of the readers will think I'm being ridiculously proud, but damn, the woman apparently only chose 4 of our questions to ask, and 3 were mine. So excuse me if I'm beaming just a little bit. :)

^^^ I'm totally altering the post! Awesome! I wasn't sure where the internet question got started because I knew a couple people asked, so I'm glad you cleared that up! SCORE, JAKE WATCH!!!! And Cherita, if I had a medal, I'd give it to you!

Also, you guys are way too nice because that's a TERRIBLE Photoshop job. ;D

Well don't tell us that! It looks good to me, at this size. Of course, I don't know what the glorious 4' poster-sized version looks like, but I'm sure we'll get a glimpse of it around campaign HQ.

And if you gave me a medal, I'd wear it proudly. Or hock it to go to New Jersey to attend the Filmmakers Symposium. It would so be worth it to get up to the microphone and say, "By the way, I'm the person who came up with that cilantro question."

I watched far, far too much WWF when I was younger.

I think was trying to be careful, a bit too careful. The interviewer should of did some follow-up questions so he could explain further.

wow, i just discovered JW ( i remember lurking it before, but you know, not really) and read like everything in the archives and then laughed into a pillow. you're my new hero.

Aw damn it I'm so sorry PG, I missed the whole point of that post! :-s It is a very good PS job! ;-) If they ever make a movie of Due South, Jake should play the mountie in it the name of the which I've forgotten because *ahem* I never actually watched it or anything! :-b x

PS I cant make the HTML tags work (someone needs to spell it out for me!) so just imagine that "watched" was in italics...!
