WHAT?! NO!!!

Somehow, that just never gets old.

Interesting that these started showing up all over the frickin' place...

...a couple of weeks after THESE started showing up all over the frickin' place!!!!

When will it stop, Paramount?! WHEN?!

Part 3 of the obviously superior of the two films is up NOW (in two segments, so be sure to catch them both)! Read, read, read! And next Friday, don't miss the incredible conclusion of the movie industry's most amazing masterpiece EVER! The Friday after that, you can go see Zodiac in theaters (in some countries), but I think it's just going to be a letdown after the show we've put on for you. It's not our fault we're such unbelievable cinematic geniuses.

For those of you who are interested in that other movie, you might want to check out this fun Zodiac interview.

(We've linked back to JustJared because it appears there was a misunderstanding and No. 6 would like to apologize for defaming JJ yesterday. Sorry! I hope there are no hard feelings!)

Love the thoughtful, low-key Jake.
It's beautiful to watch this video with the sound turned off: he has such mobile features, and I am not even mentioning those hands..!

I swear I'm having memory issues *wink*

Jake sounds great too, I love how he seemed a little bewildred by Graysmith's compliments.

Kokodee, I have no idea what you're talking about. *wink*wink*

I LOVE to watch his face. His eyes!!! His expression, His smile, his almost-smile!!! He is so totally adorable. I'd never heard of JustJared until the Ramona/Cantara stuff.I decided to check it out from time to time, and if they were doing any mean things to Jake I would ZAP them. But what I discovered was that aside from the fact that it IS a gossip blog, they seem to be one of the nicer ones and actually really seem to like Jake. Of the two blogs that I'm aware of that are really despicable, one is run by someone called "Perez" and another is "dlisted." Vicious, mean and disgusting, both of them. And they lie! Jared doesn't fit in that category. (Actually, I think they are fans!)
So, while I didn't like that JJ was part of JW difficulties, I have sort of forgiven them. Sort of...

This is terribly exciting. I won't be able to sleep until the next installment is ready!!!! I cannot believe you left Jake bound and gagged in the lair of his nemisis, Ed Marrakesh!!!! The suspense is making my stomach clench up...or maybe it was the refried beans last night???

also, i think bloody-disgusting.com, but not sure since i can't view that site from work (it's blocked).

btw, love love LOVE the milk carton missing boo ad campaign. pure genius. do they have those in the UK/other countries? the missing kids on milk cartons thing?

Anonymous said...

After watching the video three times I now managed to concentrate on what he was saying, he has such a wonderful voice and speaks so articulated and I could understand nearly everything he said.
But "I poo-pooed"(sp?) What does that mean? Can someone please explain?

Anonymous said...

Carla, I think "poo-poo'ed" (?) means to ignore the fact or to not take a situation or comment seriously..... :)

Anonymous said...

No we don't have missing kids on milk cartoons in the UK. We kind of like to leave that up to the police, not the milk companies but thanks to being force-fed American culture all our lives we know it happens...;).

Anonymous said...

Ah thanks, that makes sense....:-))

I was a bit surprised, because the expression in that coherence was new to me....

Thanks, smurfette! :)

THE DAILY SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! O.M.G. And you know Jon Stewart totally LOVES him!!!! When Maggie was on Jon wanted to talk about Jake! Wanted Jake to know Jon was still waiting to play basketball!!!I think the whole world is totally smitten! Smitten. Some were smote long ago and some got smote more recently. It never stops. Sir Ian is obviously smitten. Bet if Jake went on The View they'd be like, passed out on the floor. Ellen loves him. Oprah, meh. Just wait. David Letterman will be smote as well. Conan is totally flattered when Jake even pays attention to him. Like. He listens to him. Ya know???

Anonymous said...

I think we ought to pay attention to the morning shows and to the daytime talk shows. Bet he hits those too. Clearly, he will be NYC for all this stuff and that's where most of them originate.

Oh...my...God...Jon Stewart and Jakey in close proximity to each other. I don't think I am going to be able to handle this.

THE WEEK OF JAKE!!

We need to get in touch with his people immediately!!!! He HAS to wear The Shirt on at least one of his appearances. Can we get into any of these shows??? Or do we just stand at the stage door after the taping with drool cups???

Totally OT, but FYI: It was announced that Kirsten Dunst will be among those presenting at the Oscars this year.

Sam said...

wow its all too much, a Zodiac (blah blah) video, and new installment and how the daily show information... i dont think i can handle this! *wonders if she has time to fit all of this in!*

second thoughts, i totally have time.. i will MAKE time!

I've seen those wanted Zodiac posters posted mostly in Downtown NY. I have mixed feelings about them. That said, I can't wait until the movie opens on 3/2 and the Jake interviews on Letterman, Conan and the Daily show.

Off to read part 3 of TDATND.

PS: Poor BOO!!!!

heddaparsons said...

Oh, I forgot to add: I watched the interview and he sounds wonderful. Thoughtful and I agree, taken aback a bit with the Graysmith compliments. Also I agree with the comments about Just Jared. There was a time where I would lump it together with the other sleazy blogs but it seems to have gone over a complete makeover in the last several months. The Jake coverage has been really good IMO.

I don't suppose Jake would wear his Obey The Puggle shirt? Oh I wish!!!

David Letterman is a quirky, twitchy guy. I love him, but his sense of humor is "different." Leno is an affable fellow who tries to make his guests feel comfortable. Letterman isn't like that. Having said that, I think actually, that Jake and David Letterman will really get along and it may well be one of the more fun interviews we get to see. Put it this way. Letterman loves Clooney. How can he not love Jake. Often, Letterman has his guest on the exact same day as their film premieres in NYC. There may be a way to find this out in case there are any East coasters who can get there. It might not be BAFTA, but they'll probably have a red carpet.
Or not. I mean this is NYC!

This article from the New York Times about Zodiac is a "must read". I understand now why during the Brokeback interviews Jake suggested he might end up a carpenter or chef rather than an actor; and why he took such a long break before accepting the part in Rendition. Clearly he didn't find the process of working with Fincher enjoyable. It would inevitably make anyone reassess their chosen career.

Particularly loved RDJ's comment about Fincher: "I think I’m a perfect person to work for him, because I understand gulags.”

Poor Jake :(

The Chemistry Guru said...

You know, I bet Bubbleboy was the one movie Jake had the most fun working on. I guess the no pain no gain factor translates into less fun shooting critically aclaimed movies.
That's why Morgan Freeman said that with the execption of Unforgiven, all the movies he's had fun in have been bombs. Haha.

sfgirl said...

In the GQ article, there's a mention of Jake's character in Zodiac who "loses his spring in his step." I also remember reading somewhere else where this movie was Jake's "crucible." After reading this NYTimes article, it all makes sense. I can't wait to see the results.....

KayDee said...

it's sad that he doesn't seem to want to learn from the great directors but criticizes them without really thinking why and what for... esp bcz he has a chance to work with the greatest now and is still a young actor.

plus the director's reaction suggest that jake didn't complin to him directly, only to the press. and now that's not very loyal, no?

meh

Anonymous said...

A large portion of the Zodiac filming was during the peak of the Brokeback frenzy. That wouldn't have helped, either.

But lots of successful actors clash with equally successful directors. Emma Thompson and Ang Lee, for example. She loathed working with him. A great director knows what to do to get the best out of his actors. Fincher seems rather inflexible. Remember that he started out making music videos, where he was working with visual style not creative acting.

The Chemistry Guru said...

kaydee, I dunno... it didn't seem to me that Jake was/is unwilling to learn from these directors,(he did say in ang and sam's case how much he benefited from working with them), but he does seem to be(suprisingly?) quite vocal about his experience.

And anon is absolutely correct in his/her observation...although Jake still has some way to go, and wouldn't want to create the wrong impression at this stage of his career

Anonymous said...

er..gulags?
what does that mean (sory english not my strong language/0

sfgirl said...

I believe gulogs were those really tough Soviet-era prison camps!! Was RDJ being just slightly ironic...:}

Anonymous said...

I'd cut Jake a LOT of slack on this film. From the NYT article, Fincher seems to like to play head games with his actors and sort of break them down. I wonder if he respects them very much. He said as much in the article. In fact Fincher came across as a pretty arrogant guy. Control freak might be an apt description. Big ego, too. I don't think Jake was alone in saying what he said. I think all of the actors felt that way. And Kaydee, I wouldn't leap to the conclusion Jake doesn't want to learn from the great directors. I think it would be wrong to assume that. Each director has his own distinctive style and personality. Obviously, Jake will be more responsive to some than to others. He and Fincher like each other personally and I think it was a learning experience for Jake. I wouldn't make too much of it. Everyone in the industry knows what Fincher is like.

70-90 takes sounds like slave labor. I feel sorry for Jake, RDJ and the others in the cast. Let's hope the movie was worth the servitude.

Anonymous said...

Emma Thompson and Ang Lee, for example. She loathed working with him"

Good grief! Where on earth did you read that???? She ABSOLUTELY did not loathe working with Ang. On the contrary, she LOVED working with him--although Ang did have problems with others. When Emma was on Oprah last year (before the Oscars)--and Oprah was making her "Crash is wonderful and should win the Oscar pitch," Emma said she wanted Ang to win--she talked very highly of him. Oprah did little to veil her displeasure because she obviously wanted Paul Haggis, who directed Crash, to win. That woman was so transparent.

I do love Jake's 'he paints with peope, and 'it's tough to be a color'..!
Jake made similar remarks about the incredible amount of takes they were doing, already in January of last year when they were still shooting the movie. David Fincher is obviously a difficult man to work with - literally everyone who has ever worked with him seems to agree on that!
(And by the way, if you read between the lines in some interviews with Jake and Heath re BBM it is obvious that everything was not always 'love and peace' between the actors and Ang Lee, either.)
For the fans: the March edition of the U.S. Esquire magazine with Roert Downey Jr. on the cover, has a long article on both David Fincher and RDJ. There's a link to the RDJ article on their website.

That should of course be 'people'.

Yes, Fincher is notorious in the industry. Explains why his last feature film was 2002. I love that some directors are willing to stand up for themselves and their work and speak out against the studios (who seems to know less and less about making movies every year...just money). I'm sure Jake and the rest of the cast had an interesting time with him to say the least.

heddaparsons said...

I read the NYT article and Fincher did come across as a bit arrogant and a control freak, but I had read/heard that about him before. Jake has mentioned previously that he was frustrated with the 60 - 70 takes so i'm surprised Fincher was "shocked" to hear about it now. I wouldn't put too much into it, i'm sure Jake learned from Fncher. I'm really looking forward to this film.

Anonymous said...

70 to 90 takes??? Ridiculous. A man who doesn't story board or plot things out ahead of time bcz it's too constraining??? You have to have some general direction plotted out, some sense of where you're headed and what you're going for as far as your idea of things. You have to know these things up front. For the crews' sake! There's plenty of opportunity to be fluid. But either you know where your going or you don't. Robert Downey, Jr's comment was really most critical of Fincher. A gulag is more than just a really tough prison camp. Gulags were/are places where stripping you down mentally, literally re-working your mind, breaking you into something compliant, is the highest order of the day. To say Fincher ran a gulag is to say he really has very little regard for the people he uses.Jake's "milk and water" comment abour Ang was a gentle poke. Heath saying how non-verbal Ang was.And Emma Thompson is very laudatory about Ang. She adores him. But she also said he exasperated her very much. I think when people say things, it shouldn't be read as a blanket condemnation of anyone. It's just a person making an observation about his experience. And to Jake's credit, he was also self-examining and a bit self critical about the maturity thing. I don't think Jake said anything terrible about Fincher. If Fincher was shocked, it's bcz he's very thin-skinned. Bet Fincher doesn't have those problems with Brad Pitt...who has so much money, he is a producer of films. Directors are usually very nice to producers.
