Ah, the old five-and-dime - I spent many a day (and many a five and dime) in my local one when I was a wee one (prehistoric times to y'all, I'm sure).

I'm gonna have to order me a T-shirt...need something new to sleep with, um, in.

*sigh* I remember when American money was worth more than the paper it was printed on.

me too! I remember I've seen it, but i forgot what the print is like... guess i can search the blog.

I've got to do the 'design' section yet.

For not getting my ass sued reasons I can't use images of Jake. It's basically 'Jake Watch' with a cool eye print.

We still have Woolworths in the UK!

I remember Woolworths! My Nana would take me there for shopping and lunch. Awww sepia colored memories of a time when I was young. *le sigh*

Aww, thanks Frank! The last time someone dedicated a song to me I was in the toliets of the club and missed it!

I'm thinking this Woolworths may not be the same. They sell music, DVDs, toys, household stuff, garden stuff...everything basically but no cafes.

It was the 80s for me! I was a little nuisance too. Always wanted something from the store! Ahhh the 80s the "Me" decade. I wore acid washed denim, rocked a jheri curl, and was mesmerized by the movie "Less Than Zero" It's a wonder I didn't come out a total coke whore.

Girl,

I have made a store application in college. I could give you the code. People could fill out the information (size, color, style) and press send and then an email gets sent to you automatically. You also might want to set up a paypal account and have a link on there for purchase.

Let me know if you need any help.

Yes I do indeed remember Woolworth's - spent many a weekend of my young teen years hangin' out at the Woolworth's lunch counter. And when I was grade-school age, Ben Franklin's was my favorite five-n'-dime - they even had penny candy...

I LOVED going to the 5 and 10 when I was a kid - that would be around 1950. It was the only place you could find inexpensive stuff that kids love - little toys, tablets, paint sets, paperdolls, music books, etc. How I miss it!

(But I did find an independent 5 and 10 still in business in Parksley, Virginia. Same layout, but prices are a bit higher now. And no paperdolls!)

I want a T-shirt with Prophecy Girl's "I Want You!" design!

Thanks Sarah,

That's the kind of thing I was after. I'll give you an email.

Apart from the email hassle is the site okay to follow?

I do this thing where in my head it makes perfect but then I try to make other people follow it and it makes no sense.

Is it possible to make a payment without using Paypal? I don't have any Paypal account, and I don't know how to get one. According to your merch site, I could pay via Visa card instead?

Anonymous said...

Kendra! You can pay via visa card at paypal without having an account!

Thanks, anon! Then, I'll check it again, trying to make up my mind about the shirt color I think it will fit me better.

Agreed, anon 1:26. BPB is a total star!! I foresee a rush of orders ... just trying to decide between original and baby doll ...

And btw *puts tongue firmly in cheek* isn't it nice to have the place back to ourselves again? :-)

Hmm here's the thing. No one in my real life knows my Jakey obsession but my sister and I just don't want to hip anyone to my jive. Conundrum conundrum.

With ya there, Squall! I share JW snippets with my teenage daughter, who 'gets' it like I do, and I pimp the JW blog / community to those who I think could connect with it but that't it. And I'm admitting to a very select few that I'm getting back into writing by doing some fanfic writing, but NO ONE will be hearing anytime soon that its slashfic, let alone RPS...

DON'T PAY YET!!!!

I need to make a log of everything so I know where I'm up too! I might go old school and make little cards and put them in a box!

For anyone concerned about sharing the Jake Watch goodness and revealing their obsession, I suggest you buy one anyone and wear it to bed or to clean the house in.
