IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GYLLENHAAL'S

I feel like we don't concentrate on Momma Gyllenhaal enough. Since yesterday was Mother's Day in the US (is it in March in the UK? What about elsewhere?) I thought it would be appropiate to link to this interview I found: 10 Questions: Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal. Mrs Gyllenhaal really reminds me of someone, not just Jake and Maggie, but I can't put my finger on it...

I'll be watching to see what Naomi F. Gyllenhaal does with Victoria Woodhull's story. Those Clafflin girls are a very interesting subject in 19th century American history. And they were sexy, too.

Wasn't she the first woman to run for President in ths US? I'm surprised the subject hasn't been tackled already.

What a lovely lady. And she's so beautiful too, I think Maggie really takes after her mum whereas Jake looks more like his daddy.

I'm VERY fond of strong women... Cool that she upbrings such cool people lika Maggie and Jake.. She probably has a lot impact on that their careers are going so well..

Man, are we all on the same wavelength today, or what? I completely agree! I can see shades of both parents in Jake (more of Poppa Gyllenhaal, tho), but Maggie completely looks like their mom to me.

She's adorable. Aww, the Gyllenhaal's are just great: talented, beautiful, wise, down-to-earth, well you name it..

She looks beautiful in that photograph. Reminds me of a white version of my aunt. She's really tanned though so it's not much of a stretch.

She reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis.

Mrs. G. writes well & was nominated for an Academy Award for her screenplay for "Running on Empty," if I am not mistaken. She's married to the handsome Mr. G -- and she is STILL married to him, in Hollywood, no less -- and she is the Madonna who gave birth to our Jake, as well as to Maggie, who seems the opposite of a ditzy starlet. I see plenty here to admire.

I never knew she was one of the brains behind The Electric Company. I LOVED The Electric Company! Oh yes, Mrs. G is most definitely one of my heroes now! :)

I'd say that picture is from 2003, it looks like it could be from the Moonlight Mile premiere, but I'm not sure. Britpop should know for sure!

Thank you Cina! He's almost kind of unrecognisable but totally cute!

You think I would but I just found it on Google. I'll go find out.

gail, I agree. I loved how Roberta Maxwell in BBM had a similar expression to Jake's.

OH. MY. DEAR. GOD.

His SMILE in that picture! I'm sorry to distract from the Momma lady, but that smile is SO gorgeous!!!

Aside from that, it sounds like Jake has one cool momma. Hurrah for those lovely genes!
